You might need to remove the coolant tank and the power steering reservoir to create more working space. That is a walk in the park compared to the air plenum.

Update : after trying in my second hand Bosch MAF things weren't getting much better. Idiot warning here..... when I was fiddling about with the various air intake pipes I discovered that the cold idle valve had dropped off from under the 5.2 Y shaped pipe. Large jubilee clip to hold it in place and engine ran very nicely. Still a little hesitation around 1500rpm but currently I can live with that :)
Final question. Part number 125769, water coolant transmitter, I bought one to cover all bases....I can see it on the parts diagrams but for the life of me I can't find it in the actual engine. Can I see it from above? I took off the cover around the coolant reservoir, can see what I think is the oil/water heat exchanger but I can't identify where this part goes.
Can anyone post a picture please? Thanks.

Thanks for that Yelcab. Sadly I tried using that diagram previously without success. Does anyone have a photo of their engine they could put a marker on?

Fabulous picture, what a beautiful engine. Mine is a little darker :)

I found it. Removing it was almost as tricky as finding it. Hands the size of a baby and arms like a snake would have ben ideal.

Nothing to add other than: I hope you are all sorted and running well

& I thought I should say hello as I too have an F355 (1997 Spider) and live just outside Aberdeen.
