I'm curious if anyone has found a collapsible wind deflector. I loved the one used to have on the 911's i used to have. Reach behind, tap it and it folded down. The Cali's is fixed, and (being in California) I go back and forth on having the top off and closed. Would be nice to quick flip down the wind deflector when the roof is close and back up when the roof is open. Anyone seen one of these made for a Cali???????
I searched previous threads for this title. Came up short.

I'm sure you know, but you can lower and raise the roof with the wind deflector in place

Is the cali wind deflector effective? Can you notice a difference with or without?

Some Cali drivers have told me they cannot detect a difference.

Depends on speed. Above 45 mph and you can tell a difference with/without the blocker. My wife insists on the blocker on the highway.

There are pros and cons to it being fixed. With the flip type on my prior BMW, occasionally the wind could change direction and cause the upright section to fall down with a loud noise that would startle me. I would like the convenience, however, of being able to lower it more easily. It's hard to see what's following you with the blocker in place, so most of the time, I try to go without it. The ideal would be an electrically moveable clear blocker like in the 458 spider, but I don't see how that could be done in a California.

I think it's really effective above 45mph, and also agree it cuts rear visibility

I only use it if I plan a long motorway trip in good weather

Which isn't very often in London

Found mine to be very effective...particularly at higher speeds...quite amazing with all windows up and no blow-back into the cabin at, let's say, track speeds. The rear view distraction did not bother me...I left it permanently in place, top up or down. It would be kind of a pain if you had to assemble it whenever you really need it.

Agree with all. I've found the combination of the deflector, and having my window up 1/3 or so really makes a difference at Highway speeds.
I DO leave it on/up for most of the year, as I do live in Southern California. As such, it is a bit annoying, visually, when the roof is closed. That's why I was interested in a fold down version. I had 911's for years, and the fold-down on those works perfectly.
