Having just received a copy of Ferrari in Camera as well as the delux version of Making a Difference, I think I had better take a brake before I go broke. This collecting thing has become an obsession but has it been fun! So far there are over 230 volumes including you name it, and the above, plus Emotion Ferrari,The Ferrari Scuderia,Massini's 250LM, Ferrari Opera,I Quatro Clindri, several early !960s Yearbooks etc etc, complete Cavallino and Forza issues, over 300 FMLs going back to1976,120+ PHs from#35 and over 5000 scrapbook pages on Cars from the first 125 thru the P4 even numbered cars and many of the early odd numbered chassis. I am not quite sure why I am posting this thread but if anyone would like to comment I would be glad to hear from you. just one man's opinion tongascrew

Collecting, whether its books, brochures, models, stamps - you name it, is a bug. Some people have it, most don't. So most don't understand. But a lot of people on this forum do :) And yes, it can become expensive, real fast. The main point is not to loose focus on what's really important, and if your collecting is starting to hurt other areas - keep an eye on it.

I'm afraid I have the same bug, spent 500€ last week on car books and (old) car magazines.

Hi good advice. Thank you. One thing I am convinced of is that everyone[!!} collects something. I was into this European road racing big time in highschool and college. Finally I did what daddy wanted. Cut my hair, got a job and got married. So much for roadracing until I got devorced, remarried to the right woman and retired. So what to do. First bought a sailboat and lived aboard for 12 years. Then what to do??? Went back to what really turned me in in highschool and college. You got it. And so the 250 California replica and the Ferrari collecting. The car is completed, the collecting in on going. My wife thinks I am wonderful[most of the time] and I am enjoying life and staying out nof the funny farm and the retirement home and I will "keep an eye on it". just one man's opinion tongascrew

Possibly, but if your wife is a great cook and you eat [etc] at home, you will live longer and collect even more stuff. just one man's opinion. tongascrew
