I just looked into it for my '93 512 in the NY area...my best deal was through Allstate (third car, under 7500 mi/yr, recreational use only). Hagerty was 50% higher (better with classics than exotics), Great American was close, but allowed fewer miles and had more restrictions.

I priced both Hagerty and Grundy when looking to insure my Diablo. I wound up going with my regular Allstate guy. Got an agreed value policy with no restrictions for $400 less than Grundy and $600 less than Hagerty.

Get rid of Allstate. They are without doubt the worst insurance co out there. If you ever need a claim paid or worse have a bodily injury claim due to a unisured or undreinsured driver who hit you your going to get put through the mill by them and get a very low settlement offer or they will give you a hard time with the property damage repair. One guy this forum hit his car and Allstate would only pay a fraction of the repair cost. The owner wanted to do it right Allstate wanted to do it cheap. Allstate is not just a little worse than other companies they are in a league of their own. Ask any personal injury attorney or even any judge about them!

Totally agree, the joke is in the insurance industry if you have Allstate you are uninsured, they make the body shops use used parts and only pay $33 hr vs the going rate everyone else is $38/hr, most shops will not deal with them and they fight everything.

I agree, I had a bad experience with Allstate. Bad experience with Geico just because they dropped me for even saying "track driving".

David is now my agent with Farmers and I'm saving a small car payment a month for all my needs.

No offense, but the former should be the last person you should ask about anything regarding money, honesty, good business practice, etc...

Actually you are wrong. Think about it, who deals with all the different insurance companies in negotiating settlements for their clients, the personal injury atty. They know which companies pay out easily and fairly and which ones fight you every step of the way. Any reputable PI atty can give you good advise who is the best company to use in your area.

I am happy with State Farm. 2 million liability and 500 deduct. I pay 70$ more a year than the Hummer..1182 per year. I would hate to see the car that the Hummer ran over (and so would my insurance company).
