Coach K is about to get victory 903 to top Bob Knight for most wins. That is an amazing # of wins and the backstory (Knight coaching & later hiring Ksomethingorother, their relationship, etc.) is Hollywood-esque.

As most know I'm a SEC homer but outside of the best conference ever formed :)D) I cheer for Memphis (lived there in the 80s) and UNC (rubbed off on me from my dad). Plus a few others TBA. :D

I caught the first few mins of the Carrier Classic; what a great event...and not just b/c the Tar Heels won. Camo uniforms and the coaches in military boots...great stuff.

Go Navy. Great game on the CVN. Love how they paused the game for evening colors.

Tonight, Go Buckeyes. Great win against a solid Florida team Ranked #8...Next up is Duke.

    BEAT PUKE!

LOL, well, not sure Arkansas fans would agree with you but the Florida basketball fans are having a tough time understanding why we keep beating them up on the hardwood...

Well, that pretty much takes care of the ACC as far as saying they are the premier basketball conference...our Big 10 whipped thier arses.

My Buckeyes Crushed Duke, and the rest has been pretty much all Big 10. UNC may win, but it doesn't matter now...

    Go Buckeyes!

    Tough break!

It was a rough day for my Xavier too, despite the win. There is still a lot of season left to recover from losses, suspensions, and bloody gashes.

It wasn't a tough break, it was a tremendous effort without the player of the year in NCAA BB...we had a chance to win the game on the road even without him...

Still #2 in the polls because someone (unlike in football where voters often never even see a game but still get to vote) understands that.

There are about 5 really good teams this year and we are one of them...I think Kentucky has the best team out there right now, but the dance in March should be fun if we can stay healthy.

Well, this thread didn't have any legs and I'm as much to blame as anyone because I don't recall watching only a few mins of handful games.

Oh well, that will soon change now that tourney time is upon use!

Kentucky looks tough and as a self-admitted devout SEC homer I will cheer for them. I'm also a UNC & Memphis fan; I former could certainly win it all and hopefully the latter will make a run.

The selection show is on CBS @ 5 PM Central.

Whisky, you running a bracket this year? Hint, hint. :D

ACC, SEC and Big 10 Tourneys on TV today.

    Enjoy.

NCAA Tournament: the best team does not always win. You have a bad day or your opponent plays super, you go home. Makes it tough to pick the winners.

I wonder when the last time was that three of the #1 seeds didn't win their own conference tournament?

Mizzou was ranked #5 last week, and every team ahead of them lost this weekend. To me they should have been a #1 seed, but the CBS show said they were in fact the last #2 (so #8 overall) WTF?

I guess we will see what happens in the tournament.

Strength of schedule. Mizzou had an easy schedule this year, had we of not blown it against KU we would have had a #1 seed, but I'll take #2. It will be interesting to see what happens next year, if moving to an arguably weaker b-ball conference (sec) will handcuff the tigers or not...

How about SLU? Rick Majerus looks like he finally turned that team around, now that they're dancing again.

If you watched the CBS bracket announcement program, they had cameras at many schools to record the reaction of teams. Several were lower seeds and they all erupted in cheers.

Two schools stood out for me for their subdued reactions: Kansas and Missouri. The players for both just clapped and from body language were sort of like "it's on...we will show you".

At this point I'm tempted to say the Final Four will be Kentucky, Ohio St., Mizzou, and Kansas.

Really looking forward to the tournament this year for the first time in a long time. Would also love to see SLU beat Memphis and then take it to Michigan St, but that seems like a tall order.

My Buckeyes looked good tonight. I do fear Gonzaga though; they are for real.

    Big-10 went 4-0 today.

13-3 for my picks today. UNLV screwed me late or I would have been 14-2. Oh well, decent day.

when was the last time Mizzou and SLU were both in the tourney?

Mizzou/KU in the final four would result in a riot in KC. so here's to hoping it happens :p

After having lived there, I think a riot may fix some of the problems in KC, :D

No idea when the last time both Mizzou and SLU were in, but this is gonna be a fun day, work productivity will equal 0, :D

My guess the last time was when Spoonhour coached at SLU (1994?).

I have seen em all play.

No team has as much talent and discipline as North Carolina IMVHO.

Will be shocked if somebody beats them. Shocked.
