Unfortunately, we probably won't see. Boise doesn't really have much of anything in its schedule to bolster (or even support) the current ranking. The team can certainly lose and fall out of the stratosphere, but I don't see how Boise can be considered a top-five team given the weak schedule. If Boise State wants to be considered one of the elite teams in college football, a much tougher schedule is in order. That's my two cents, anyway.
Tebow is a great guy and a great player. He should have gone pro last year but that's none of my business. However, Florida is dipping into the well way too many times this season, and by that I mean that they keep depending on Tebow to make the 1st downs and touchdowns. Do that enough and it will catch up with you. The classic case of that was Earl Cambell at Houston in the NFL. Defenses will figure out how to make adjustments against a 1-man show. Florida has to show different offensive weapons or else their season will tank.
I agree with you, but fortunately for Florida, this year there do not appear to be too many serious contenders in college football. Compared to 2 or 3 years ago when several teams looked awesome, so far nobody has really looked dominant in each of their games. Alabama has probably been the most consistent, but even they were struggling against VT late in the game. I think Boise State has a great chance of going undefeated, but they should really be scheduling some tougher non conference games if they want to make a claim for #1 in the country. I'd love to have the Boise schedule. BT
What a great weekend in College Football. My Buckeyes trounced Ill. Moved up too far to #9 in both polls. We should still be around #11, but no one wants to step up in the top 10 - so the pollsters are freaking going crazy. We don't need a playoff do we LMAO!!! Not a huge Florida fan obviously, but hope Tebo is ok, that sucks when someone gets jacked up like that. Wow, shocked that VT beat Miami, and even moreso by that much. Hang in there BT - by the way we start a Home and Home with you guys next year. Go Buckeyes! MB
The home and home with tOSU will be two great games. I am sure we will be at our best to play you guys. I'm not mad about the loss this past weekend, I just hope the team springs back and plays well in the remaining games. We have got to do better than losing in the Emerald Nuts bowl this year! GO CANES!!! BT
Missouri looked OK in the second half but should have walked over Nevada. This is probably why they remain unranked despite being 4-0. So far their new QB has been good, 11 TD's and 0 INT. Week off and then play Nebraska on Thurday, 10/8. If they win that one they will be ranked, but then play OSU and TX. Hopefully 6-1 or 7-0 at that point, but good chance of 4-3.
I just filed a missing persons report with the Fchat Police. Where is COLEDOGGY now that his Rebels are #21.
frank, there are now 2 highly overrated teams that have occupied the no.4 spot this year, just wait padre. mississippi state is much worse of a team than south carolina is.
I never said the Tigers weren't overrated at this point. I would have them around # 25 based on the anemic offense and piss poor defense I have seen this year.
Pray for USC's Stafon Johnson, getting surgery at the moment. Was bench pressing when the bar fell on his throat. They say it's not life threatening but could be career ending. Just hope he gets better.
I saw this scroll across ESPN while I was at dinner; very frightening for all involved I'm sure. Best wishes Stafon. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4512778 snippet: "USC Trojans running back Stafon Johnson injured his throat in a weightlifting accident Monday and required emergency surgery. Johnson was bench pressing when the bar slipped from his hand and fell on his throat, according to a release from the school. Immediately after the accident, Johnson was coughing up blood...Head strength and conditioning coach Chris Carlisle said Johnson was using a spotter when the accident occurred...Johnson, a 5-foot-11, 210-pound senior from Compton, Calif., is the Trojans' second-leading rusher and goal-line specialist. He's rushed 32 times for 157 yards this year and leads the team with five touchdowns. He entered the season with 1,395 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns..."
25?! Where do you put them in the West? I assume you have the toothless wonders from T-town ahead of the Bayou Puddycats. I'm still holding out hope the Rebs finish # 2 in the West given their home schedule (and no Florida). That said, a 'bama collapse and its the wild, wild, west.
Just read about it myself ---scary stuff. He was being spotted thank God, but was apparently coughing up blood when he was rushed to the hospital. Keep him in your prayers tonight. MB

Geez, talk about lookin' ahead: http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2009/09/lsu_football_gets_first_two_co.html "LSU got started on the 2011 recruiting class Monday with committments from offensive lineman La'El Collins and running back Jeremy Hill, both of Baton Rouge-Redemptorist. Collins, who is 6-feet-4 and 285 pounds, was a Class 3A All-State offensive tackle as a sophomore for the Wolves in his first year of playing the position. Hill, a 6-1, 210-pounder,has rushed for 1,823 yards and 23 touchdowns on 140 carries prior to last week's game against Jackson. Collins also had offers from Tennessee, Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma State, Cal, Colorado and Houston. Hill had offers from Stanford, Nebraska, FLorida State, Colorado, Tennessee and Houston."
Man, that really sucks about the USC running back. Coming from Compton, CA he obviously was using his physical skills to get out of there and have a better life. I hope he ends up okay. BT
My best to Stafon. Sounds very serious and very scary. Apparently Mike Leech has banned twitter use after LB Marlon Williams spoke out about Leeche's tardiness to a team meeting. Which it should be. There is no place for twitter and the like near the football field. Especially if your going to blast your coach or team. Also, Brandon Carter has been suspended indefinitely for something that occured at Robertson stadium after the game. It's reported that he "destroyed" the visitors locker room, also shattered his helmet against a wall. I'm curious of what exactly happened, but it must have been pretty bad.
First VT had a miracle comeback over Nebraska, then we spanked Miami this past Saturday, now we're #6. I'm feeling pretty good at this point
IF, and that's a big IF, VT can keep the effort up to the level they showed last Saturday they should win their remaining games. Hopefully the current team can break the trend that has been shown the past several years. BT
