UCF > Auburn > Alabama
Clearly the selection committee got it right. We deserved 4th spot and earned an opportunity to play for the National Championship by defeating the defending National Champions and the current number one team. Simple enough.
Big Ten sucks regardless of their bowl record. I'm glad that joke program of Michigan failed again otherwise hearing Big Ten fans going off about being left out and undefeated in the bowl season would get annoying quickly. Next time OSU wants to *****, don't get blown out by an undefeated team. SEC wins the national championship again. How many has it been now since 2006? 9? That's what I thought...
Statistics can always be bent to favor one's argument. How many championships since 1984? The selection committee could have picked any four of maybe 8 or 9 teams and could have been 'proven' right by a single game. UCF certainly could beat anyone, so could OSU, so could Alabama, etc... I don't begrudge alabama fans for their record, but their team certainly lacks much in the way of entertainment. I hope UGA wins it next week. GO CANES!
The fun is in the winning. I have never met a football fan that would rather win the offensive stat category instead of on the scoreboard.
I think someone kidnapped our (Clemson's) quarterback and Jedi mind-tricked him into believing that he really didn't need to show up. It worked.
I was nervous until the very end. Nice piece on Dabo during the game on TV. I have always been a big Dabo fan. The sports section of the Sunday paper ran a nice story on him back when he was still playing. I read it then and was basically shocked. I had no idea the challenges he was dealing with even as a student in Tuscaloosa. That story stuck with me for some reason and I just cannot think of anyone in the sport that I was to see be as successful as him. He deserves all the rewards he is reaping now. Maybe we can sneak him away from you guys when Saban steps down
The month off probably hurt Clemson more than Bama-even though Bama didn't play in the sec championship. Seems to happen every year to some body and that's a ton of pressure on both QBs. Saban may have had his guy a little more prepared Saban being prepared is a recurring nightmare for anybody not in Tuscaloosa (including me)! Good game-also, sure OSU got screwed but they wouldn't have beaten the Tide last night. Hell, if they had 8 teams in there UCF still wouldn't be in and look what they did
Congratulations. Y'all deserved at least every point that was scored. If there's a next time, I'm sure Dabo will have 'em a bit more prepared. Beat Georgia!
The day when college pro is forced to become semi-pro, which it already is except for the players, is getting closer and closer. http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog/2017/12/ny-times-the-college-sports-tax-dodge.html
Not a Bama fan AT ALL (It's All About The "U" for me), But have to say Congratulations to you guys. Critics and Complainer said you didn't deserve to be in the final 4. Oh, You deserved to and it showed!
Here's the real college playoff -- Sorry Dr. Tommy, your guys didn't win. http://blog.aicpa.org/2018/01/whats-the-price-tag-on-your-college-football-team.html#more It’s no secret college football is big business. There’s been a long-time debate about whether student-athletes should get some of the profits (this blog post won’t go down that road). But how do you put a price tag on a team?
If the Gov of Fla thinks so it must be true. Kidding-but what is certain is they definitely won the state champs (thank God the Noles didn't play them this year, or USF for that matter) More importantly: who's winning this game tonight?! I like UGA because they haven't won since Herschel was there but if they play like they did against Auburn in the regular season the Tide is going to be ready to collect another trophy
I never thought I would ever live to see anyone reach Coach Bryants 6 National Championships. Great great game ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!
The number of Freshmen on the field is almost as impressive to me as the comeback. 2020 is going to be an exciting season, I hope in a good way.
