If they don't lose again, they only have one more 'tough' game - at LSU. I would not consider Mercer, Auburn or Oklahoma threats, but you never know...
Seems a little Russell Wilson-y? You never know what he will do? I am wondering the same about Will Howard, and even Quentin Ewers...
I didn't say they were busts, I just cannot figure out if they are any good/as good as reported to be. I've always wondered why nobody looks at Div II or Div III QB's/players, I'm pretty sure there are a few diamonds out there. Well, part of that is TODAY the NFL wants a player - especially a QB - that can start on day one, and most of them in college cannot do that, Div 1 included. Look at that Richardson guy in Indy - can't read a defense to save his life, and then you have Drake Maye - who also started just one year in college - who is halfway seviceable, and then you have guys that started for 4-5-6 years like Nix, Penix and Purdy....
Same as Aaron his first 3 years, and Love his first 3 years... If Atlanta is going to 'win', now is the time, with a bunch of guys coming up for contract talks in a year or maybe two.
I said that when Richardson said he was leaving Florida for the NFL that he was not anywhere near ready. I was very surprised when the Colts picked him so high; maybe he know that was likely to happen if he left school early.
Florida State was ranked no. 10 in the preseason in both major polls. Now they are 1-8. That's the worst collapse I've ever seen for a team that was top-10 preseason. What happened?
Most agents know where their clients will be taken, and by who. Look at Quinn Ewers - considered declaring for the draft last year, but didn't. Because he would not have been a first round pick, this year he MIGHT be, just by default (but he really isn't a first-rounder) I think Jim Irsay wanted a 'running' QB - thinking he was getting a Lamar, Josh, Patrick, Kyler, Caleb, Daniels, and he thought he'd fool all the other teams. Richardson will be out of the league after his rookine contract is up. I dunno, did everyone graduate? Do they have a QB? What happened to the QB that missed the bowl game and everyone made a big stink about it? Jordan Travis - I think with the Jets now. The way they are 'playing' today is ALL coaching, BAD coaching, not just the HC, but the assistants as well.
There are a couple of teams called the Aggies - I am assuming you mean Texas A&M? Don't they have a top NIL money pool? A&M is one of those teams that always seems to lose a game nobody saw coming, at the worst time. Except losing to SC didn't surprise me. I expected it to be at Auburn, for some reason.
The A&M loss to Notre Dame was rough but it was the first game and A&M bounced back nicely. They had a couple good wins vs Florida, Mizzou, and LSU. They were due for a trap game. Myself and all my buddies were worried about that South Carolina game. A&M recovered in the first half then had nothing in the second half. No win is guaranteed when on the road in the SEC. Look at Tenn @ Arkansas, Bama @ Vandy, A&M @ SC plus a few more close ones. SEC has done itself no favors this year by losing out of conference games and then having big upsets within the SEC The loss to South Carolina stings but as long as A&M wins out they are still a 1 conf loss team. Makes the game against Texas even more important.
It's number of losses, not number of CONFERENCE losses. Let's say A&M wins every game in the SEC but loses every game outside the SEC, do you think the pollsters are going to say the out-of-conference losses 'don't count'?
Of course out of conference losses still count. That’s why I still want that ND game back. There’s only one more out of conf game with NM St and I’m not too worried about that one. Conference records matter when deciding who plays in the conference championship. That is more what I was thinking/talking about. Also, most of my friends went to rival SEC schools so the conf record matters in our trash talk
I'm 66, I know how it works. And the world has changed - 40-50 years ago, none of my football-loving friends even knew what 'trash talk' was, and today I'm not wired for it, I just ignore people, mute them, or tell them to G.F.T. and then I block them, in all the football groups I am in. I just don't have the energy for the aggravation. Yeah, I think there is a possibility that you, I and a bunch of guys from here on FC can beat New Mexico State...
The Gators are in the thick of it now. They played well enough against Georgia to be tied in the 4th quarter, but now they get Texas, and in Austin as well. And they have to do it with a third-string walk-on QB. As I said, their schedule must have been prepared by the Marquis de Sade. They need 2 more wins to be bowl-eligible and that will be tough to get.
We can't let them sneak up on us. After their dreadful season, they could get a little respite by beating the Gators.
Classless LSU d bag fans. Hope they watch replay and bust every fan who threw bottles at their own cheerleaders and field.
They said every major college and pro team in Florida lost this weekend, only Miami is left, but that is technically not 'the weekend'. I have not vetted this out.
