Ridiculous. Our lawmakers need to find something better to do with their time....
I thought the same thing. Problem is, my nephew is in Ohio, he says nobody understands: people in Ohio would be fine if Ohio State was to go 1-12 - as long as that one win was over Michigan. He says it is unlike any other state, any other rivalry, people there are nuts. Oklahoma-Texas? no USC-UCLA? no Alabama-Georgia? no Harvard-Yale? no But I know what the guys' reasoning is going to be - 'crowd safety'. Which is BS.
May I very politely say GFY? LOL (I'm kidding) I used to really like Ohio State, but the more I learn, their 'fans' are bat-**** crazy.
Not sure if they were 'frauds', but when you are a damned good team playing someone for the second time, things tend to go the opposite of what they did the first time. Speaking of frauds, there's Texas..... I'm getting a kick out of the sports radio morons saying the new starting QB for Georgia sucks because the threw a pic in the last game, these idiots must have taken the night off when Carson Beck threw multiple pics/lost a couple of games for Georgia all by himself. I said all along Beck and Ewers are the most overrated QB's to play for top-ranked teams in a long, long time, and Sanders doesn't impress me as much as he does the media. The kid at Miami looks like another Jaydan Daniels...
That ASU vs Texas Tech Peach Bowl was really crazy. I almost turned it off in the 2nd qtr. At the end I felt ASU was going to pull it out.
Interesting that in the first round, the teams seeded 9-12 were eliminated; now in the second round the teams seeded 1-4 were eliminated! (In the latter case, some people are blaming the bye that those teams got, making them rusty.) So now its the teams that were in the middle, seeded 5-8, that will battle for the crown.
They needed to be reseeded after they were selected. I don't think that would change the fact that OSU was most likely goiung to win it all, but you have to do SOMETHING to get other, new teams in it. The radio morons keep talking 'We need the blue bloods in it', and they speak of the SEC, how'd that work out? When a crappy Texas team is the only one left, LOL And I also remind them we HAD other 'blue bloods' in the past: Remember when USC, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Miami, Florida State were all perennial powerhouses every year? Remember when Miami, Kansas State, Florida State were laughing stocks prior to 1980? Remember when Duke, N Carolina and Oregon sucked every year? We need change.
Wow, this article says its OSU's first championship since 2020. I had no idea. https://www.breitbart.com/sports/2025/01/21/watch-ohio-state-fans-go-rampage-break-into-stadium-after-buckeyes-win-national-championship/ I am tired of all the crying about the two best teams. Apply that to the NFL won't you. Its a playoff and lowest ranked beat the higher ranked in lot of the games where they did not think that would happen. Now you want to change the format. To me it sounds like you want to manipulate the set up to get the desired outcome. Lets go back to the 4 team arrangement and be done with it. Last night did not have the same luster as years before because we have TOO MUCH football nowdays. We have two more weeks of NFL and then straight into the USFL or whatever its called. The sport is getting boring now.
ESPN's "Way-Too-Early" Top 25 for next year starts with Ohio State, Texas, Penn State, Notre Dame, Georgia and Oregon. I'm glad they acknowledged Florida's good work at the end of the season, in recruiting and in the transfer portal by placing the Gators 18th, their first ranking anywhere in quite a while. Still, that puts them only 6th in the SEC.
