I believe that is 5 in a row. How sweet it is. : :) :)
WOW What a great game! I know Alabama lost, but I am so pleased with the way the Tide played. Unquestionably outmatched in talent and seniority, playing against THIRTY of Saban's recruits, 18 being starters, and playing it right down to the final seconds. I know the only thing that matters is who gets the win, and I applaud LSU and Miles for a great victory in Tuscaloosa. But Alabama definitely won the coaching war. With the huge talent discrepancy, the Tide still hung in there on both sides of the ball. We have no running back and an ok QB and somehow Jon Parker Wilson threw all over the highly taunted LSU defense. LSU had 14 penalties for 132 yards to Alabama's two for fifteen. I don't think even Les Miles himself could argue against the Tigers' lack of discipline on the penalty front. The refs botched a couple calls, the most notable being the long pass to Caddell in the second half that the announcers (and everyone else watching) were sure would stand because the replay was clear and the call was a catch, but they reversed it nonetheless. I don't blame the refs at all for the game though, as bad as that call was it doesn't put points in LSU's pocket, and the refs don't play the game. Great win by the Tigers, and I'm glad the SEC still has a national title contender, but I have the biggest grin on my face right now knowing that the future of the Alabama program is surely very, very bright. I'm still trying to convince myself to be dissappointed and know that UA lost, but it just doesn't feel like it. My player of the game was Glen Dorsey. I just love this guy; he has great fire and will do well in the NFL. His attitude and intensity are everything you want in a player. He is also a class guy on the field, doesn't get mixed up in fights or start trouble, just goes out and plays hard and strong for 4 quarters, and with a bum knee to boot. There's nothing that can wipe the smile from my face right now . I'm sure you feel better about Miles staying in LA now Frank. Personally, I would love to see him stay and build on this rivalry, but I just don't think Carr will be around after Ohio State beats Michigan.
some great games earlier today. mizzou won big against colorado, something we haven't done in a long time, ku won huge, thumbs down, and boston college got knocked off by fsu
I'm talking to publishers about writing the sequel, focusing on all things football.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm sure he was just breaking into the car to save a starving infant from being burned alive. Miami players are saints and don't get into trouble anymore. Jeez, don't you read? The 4-5 Wolfpack are a ferocious team that are vastly underrated. See BT? I saved you twice the trouble of having to reply to Sauber. B
Well, hey, what bout dem Noles? There is no doubt that BC WAS the strongest, baddest, best team in the country. I'm thinking that FSU should be voted the new #1. After all, everybody knows that Yankees don't know how to play football. It is sure nice to have something to feel good about. Now, at a minimum, this will not be a losing season, which is a lot better than what I had hoped for before yesterday. Dale
Technically, it still can be a losing season, just not regular season. Right now they're 6-3. They went 6-6 in the regular season last year and would've had a losing record (6-7) if they lost to UCLA in the Emerald bowl. IMO, FSU should at least beat Maryland so they'll be guaranteed a winning record no matter. I think they'll win at VT next weekend anyway.
Maybe that is part of their plan to get back to winning. No arrests =losing seasons. Arrests = National Championships.
Yikes! I'm a college football fan and former Ole Miss student (during the Billy Brewer years) and just realized the extent of the obvious...the Rebels suck! Not only are they the only SEC team without a conference win they are also the only SEC team without a winning overall record. Next worse are the Bullpuppies of MSU and they have 2 conference wins and are +1 overall. We need another Manning in Oxford, ASAP! Archie for Coach!
We got 'kicked down' . I just got back from the keys and am going out of state, but I can relax now. We are officially playing for 'pride' and 'moral victories'! Oh well, there's always next year. At least our QB for next year got arrested for breaking off someone's rear view mirror in Coconut Grove. Maybe we are on the path back to being ourselves. PS - Good game at 'Bama. Right down to wire! And nice win FSU. I was hoping we could go the rest of the season undefeated and beat an undefeated BC team, but neither is going to happen apparently. Peace out brothers! BT
BT - The College Game Day weekday show said that this was "rock bottom" for Miami, but I disagree. I don't think they'll fall much further than they are now, and the future is brighter with Randy Shannon at the helm. Keep your head up. It could be worse: you could be a Nebraska fan.....
I just thought i would come out here and say GO Knights!!!! If you guys havent been watching our Running back Kevin Smith is rocking. Should be a fun game agaisnt Miami next year. If you guys are in the Orlando area, you need to stop by and check out the campus. UCF-University of Central Florida
At least the Irish have a top notch recruiting class coming in, the Husker commits are dropping left and right.
Irish had a top recruiting class last year and they still FAIL. 11th in 2007 and 5th in 2006. Why has their team sucked so bad? Terrible coaching. You do not go 1-infinity in a "rebuilding" year. Btw, they beat UCLA when they lost their first AND second string QB. So they used a WALK-ON qb, lol. He turned the ball over 5 times.
Does it strike anyone as odd that there are three Big 12 teams in the top 6? Assuming all of them win for the next couple of weeks, the unfortunate thing is that there will be two more losses among them, with Kansas playing Missouri in the last week of the regular season, and that winner then likely playing Oklahoma for the Big 12 championship. If Kansas then wins the Big 12 (and is then also undefeated), I don't see how they aren't in the national championship game against OSU. They would have beaten #5 & #6 in the last two weeks of the season. That of course assumes OSU, LSU, and Oregon don't lose along the way. I would say there is about a 50% chance of all three winning out, with Oregon the most likely to come back down to Earth IMO.
Bennett I figured out why the SEC officiating is so bad check out the ref from last years Auburn game. No call for pass interference. I think it is the same guy that tried to spot the ball on the 1 inch line in the Bama / ole Miss game this year. Image Unavailable, Please Login
