cool. was just curious. it's a good school, and i've typically found that going to a well-known and well-respected school automatically lends a bit of credibility to its alums.

*** looks like original thread was merged into a new one**

I was inches from going to Claremont McKenna. Was accepted early, visited, paid my initial deposits, etc. Unfortunately for them, I drove down the road to Occidental College in L.A. Anyway, I spent an outstanding 4 years at Oxy, got an incredible education, met my future wife, and just loved L.A.

Although I was impressed with Clarement, I feared I'd be in the shadow of Pomona -- always wondering if I should have gone there instead.

OH COOL!! I have a couple of friends who went to Oxy, and they loved it.

CMC is great place. I never felt that we were in the shadow of Pomona... always felt like they are in our shadow. :) Heheh...

    * By the way, for those of you who don't know Pomona College well, we are NOT talking about Cal. Poly Pomona. That's a totally different school.

University of Melbourne: BA/LLB student (i.e Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws). 1.5 years to go before completion. Then 1 year of Articles (practical training), then admission to practice as a lawyer. I will begin as a solicitor (this is a type of lawyer in England and Australia; has a different connotation in the US), then I may perhaps become a barrister (again for the benefit of Americans, this is the English/Australian equivalent of a trial attorney).

I am interested in specialising in intellectual property law, property law and equity (a type of general law pertaining to injunctions, estoppel, specific performance of contracts, etc).

Hope to purchase a Ferrari within the next 6-10 years.

The farther you get away from school, the greater the importance exists of having good interpersonal skills. In other words, a school transcript may get your foot in the door, but it's up to you to push the door open and stay there!

Currently freshman at the Wharton Business School, concentrating in Management/Marketing/Legal Studies or some combination of them. NOT studying finance, contrary to most of my school.
Hope to start my own company a few years after graduating, after I've gained a bit of experience. The other option is law school and then on to practicing law, which I've considered for a while, quite a bit recently. So I have options.
No Ferrari yet but I'll let you know when it happens. Currently 18.

All right, all riiiiight.....some personal info, probably no harm.....besides, an easy free post!!!

BS Chem/Bio SUNY Plattsburgh, MS Systems Management USC (NOT S. Carolina). Started the first chemical Reagents manufacturing lab in State of FL in 1988, opened one up in Genova "let's hear it for Chris Colombus" Italia in 1999. Still no other mad scientists in my field in FL after 19 yrs (how much longer can that last).

Ferrari? not yet, but I am Italian/Amer. Speak Italian daily (Sicilian and Proper ), so aquiring a Ferrari is a must, eventually. Like different hobbies/interests (profile lists them).

Education did help me, a lot. But my personality/goal setting mentality has affected my life, well, like it has yours!
