I would go for a red Persian antique floor rug as oposed to the blue.

That floor rug is not quite IT, I agree. :)

I tried to buy this very car from Michael Sheehan (whose website you are providing the link to) three months ago but he could not trace its owner in the space of a week or two. Another 550 came along and I broke off communication with him, thanking him for his efforts. So this car may or may not be for sale. Did you realise the car is in Germany? It is on German plates, which made it attractive for me as I have my 550 in Holland.

The car was attractive to me except for the colour - I'm not a big fan of Argento. This is, however, a personal opinion. I think the colour combination in itself would sell well enough but would be a bit less wanted than red or a dark colour. This means little, however, if you look at the low mileage, the low price, and the fact that this is one of the last 550s built. The car should hold its price well enough.

One thing that I was concerned with, however, is that it now has been for sale for almost a year and it would certainly need a service before using it.

silver over red is a challenging resale combination.

i've seen worse, for sure, but that's definitely below the midline mark, if not in the bottom quintile.

As much as I personally like this color combination, I have to say it detracts from the sales price. Anything other than what has become the standard, Red/Tan, detracts. Having tried to sell a silver/blue car, I know. It was the blue interior that offended more than the silver paint. Because newer cars cost so much and the wait list is so long, I believe owners order them EXACTLY to their personal tastes, and therefore you see more custom color combinations than in past years. As time goes on, secondary buyers will be more willing to settle for less than their optimal choice of color. Red/tan may actually become a premium, rather than median for 12 cyl GT's.
