Hey guys, Do any of you know the colour of this car or its chassis number ? My local Ferrari dealership cannot determine the colour through these pictures. Closest colour on file he came up with was a one-off Rosso Libano. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The 458 kind of looks like this California model color Rubino Micalizzato. This is an older Ferrari color that is very popular. Rather than looking for a match you should use the color as a guide to choose what YOU want. Rubino is a color that changes with the lighting as can be seen from the indoor picture. There are many red shades including Rosso Fiorano (another popular choice) and the F50 color Rosso Barchetta which is a non-metallic color. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You may have luck taking to a different dealer, maybe they can help further? Off topic, but there is a great thread somewhere for ***** parking that this car can go to.
Rubino Micalizzato was my thought as well. It looks too dark to be Fiorano and Maranello. For a dark shade of red, I think the Fiorano is the better colour. This is Fiorano Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is going to be a speciale spec, interior colour will be full alcantara in choccolato, no stripe The exterior colour still needs to be picked, does anyone have any pictures of a speciale in a deep red, almost purple ?
I went to the website which has the photo posted. I did a search of 458 spiders and it says the picture was taken in Illinois, and it has a few more pictures of the rear end, and it has a continental auto sports license plate frame. I would contact continental and I'm sure they can tell you the exact color or colour.
Mugello is non metallic and everything in this thread so far seems metallic to me, even the FF in the video The 458 spider has to be Rubino Micalizzato as it seems too dark for fiorano and too light for Vinaccia, even bearing in mind the low light setting.
Not sure it's metallic though it certainly could be. It seems very reflective under dim lighting conditions which metallics usually are not. As gilly6993 says it is gorgeous.. whatever it is.
In terms of standard, not classic he or custom colors, my understanding of the non-metallic red continuum from orange reds to blue reds is as follows: Dino (basically orange) Scuderia Corsa (traditional) Mugello (virtually same as BMW color of same name) Barchetta (think mid-late 70s GM burgundy color) There are too many metallic reds to even begin describing them. In regards to comments above, having seen the colors I am about to mention, Rubina has a plum cast. It is dark like TdF blue. Beautiful when any light hits it. Fiorano has more orange and pink tones (depending on light) in the metallic paint. Think of a red brick and you will get my eye's description. Car above seems like Rubina to me, but barchetta is possible as I cannot for certain say it is metallic. Best
This URL may help: Ferrari Colors Rosso Metallizzato or Rubino Micalizzato seem closest, to my eyes anyway…T …T
Check out this one. Best red for the 458 hands down. Fiorano??? Ferrari 458 in Paris - 1 | MadWhips Image Unavailable, Please Login
My favorite red for the 458 is the tri-layer Rosso Maranello (below left). Oh so expensive. The F12 red tri-layer Rosso Berlinetta is also beautiful, having a bit more orange. Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is Fuoco. My guess is that the car in your picture is as well. Fiorano is darker and less orange. Fuoco is a tri layer - so $$$$$ But either way, Fiorano, Fuoco and Maranello are the best reds there are for the 458. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks like Mugello to me. I've got a scud in Mugello and have ordered a Speciale in same colour. I agonized at length on colour choice between Mugello and Fiorano and ended up having help at the NY atelier organized kindly by my dealer here in South Oz - Mugello has metallic flakes in it but is not triple layered hence no extra premium.

Saw a Fuoco 458 Spider in Shibuya driven by some Yakuza old man. It was hands down the most spectacular red I have seen in person.
