Different lighting and monitor resolutions can throw everything off.

Perhaps it is Rosso Mondiale but that seems brighter? Rosso Mugello might be closer.
I have included your original color image>

BTW...........The pics of the 73 Dino in above link show the interior too...........

I have always thought the Dino's scaled down Daytona dash/instrument cluster was one of the best ever produced..........Clean and comprehensive!....

What I've noticed about this paint color is that is seems to have a bit of yellow (or orange?) in it.......

Yes a hint of orange but it appears to be a non-metallic color like Rosso Barchetta is but not as bright. Time of day and lighting has a big effect on how a color is perceived.

Agree on both points.................Tinge of orange and a solid color............

Here's a 73 Dino in Rosso Bordeaux.....Close, but as you said time of day & lighting....
    ???????????????????

BTW I had emailed the Madrid Maserati dealer for possible ID......(the car is plated Espana and pic taken in Madrid) as yet I've not heard anything back..........

Well, you were correct.........The dealer rep in Madrid emailed me this morning and said the color was indeed "rosso mondiale"...........My thanks to the Madrid rep. Mr. Guillén for his assistance......And good call of2worlds!.....My guess was Rosso Bordeaux or Rosso Barchetta.........But as you said the time of day and lighting (cloudy day) have a big effect...

    Thanks!!!!

Glad to hear the dealer was able to confirm the name of the Maserati color for you!
Very lucky in that respect, it's not often things work out that well.
I tried to get a confirmation on a gray Ferrari 599 (possibly Grigio Ferro) but the French dealer is was not talking...

I have never tried to communicate with the French (except via model webzines)....Ashame they didn't respond!

Well, the Madrid facility is a fairly new dealership. Too there are probably not that many GT's in Madrid(don't suppose there are that many in Houston).....So the car is likely well known by the staff..............
Loved the 599 when introduced (Geneva or Paris??).......Had one in gray, with the new style wheels....Gorgeous!.......

Great images there; I wonder what those Camaro guys were thinking!
I added the first GTO below. Very nice dual tone GTO with the silver gray roof plus matching wheels and silver calipers. Not too much yellow around with the black center caps on the wheels sporting a silver horse.
The other GTO has the body and roof all the same color and a black stripe front to back. Black shiny black wheels and red calipers tie it all together nicely. Those GTO's do look similar to the French 599 considering the different lighting. Thank you.
