    Hey all!

It seemed like in Houston there was a full auto detail center on every corner. You could get "the works" for around $20, but here... it seems pretty expensive...

Anyone know a place where they wax the car, condition leather with awesome products like meguires or the like? What does it cost?

I know I should detail my cars on my own, but my time is in extremely short supply these days.

Get your car very dirty and leave it in Roland's driveway.

I can not think of any down here in the Springs that I would leave my car with . I know FOD uses someone who does a good job, but I don't know the price.

    Wow, $20 is cheap!

I know there are some quick wash type places around that will do it for $20-$30, but they aren't very good. Use the same dirty rags on doors as they just used on the wheels to dry = swirl marks and little scratches. Leave marks on the windows, miss spots etc, etc.

A good detail job with a hand wash and wax, complete interior package etc. seems to run between $75 and $150 depending on just how good the place is. The best places will remove your wheels and get grime out of places that you wouldn't even think to look. Minor paint work (polishing, scratch removal etc.) can be done by the good ones too. I've seen these run to $200/car.

When I got my 348 I was positive that $20 would be what I was required to pay the valet not to drive my car, let alone get it had washed...

Why do you all think why it is that I leave my F40 at Rollands so much? He washes it, details it and waxes it every other day.

Then he complains to me how dirty I get it when I drive it and it is not worthy to be in his garage being so dirty. So, the cycle starts all over again.

He is a fanatic about clean cars and a pretty nice guy! Oh, and not a bad driver too.

How could, and why would, the AMG ever need a car cover? Does it not just serve utilitarian purposes?

Are we going to do the Estes Park run on Sunday? I am willing to drive up in the 360 and we can leave from your place in the F40's. I may bring Wenonah if you like. If I get my car dirty enough then you can detail it again!

Thank you for all of your care and attention, Mr. Detail Guy!

    Johnny
