Please say a prayer, or send some positive vibes to us burning up in Colorado, according to the news 56 lightening strikes in the last few hours have triggered multiple fires. My yard is smokey from the new fire near Bolder.

    Be safe !

Another forum I frequent is using the fires in your state as PROOF of global warming,
as we sit here in Seattle for the 3rd year of "Junuary" weather.

Stay safe - I hope the fires are contained soon.

Jason, the flames were visible from Broadway a half hour ago. The winds are blowing right from the fire toward CU and I am in between. My house smells like a campfire indoors.
    This sucks.

Hope you guys stay out of harms way - good luck.

Do you have an evacuation plan in mind if it becomes necessary? I'd be tempted to load up the most rugged of your vehicles ready for a quick escape.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

This first picture is of the boulder fire that i took, and the 2nd is from the high park fire. Also a slurry bomber that was going towards the high park fire. i dont have any of the colorado springs fire, but my friend took an awesome picture of one from the springs, and he was in a deserted neighborhood, and the smoke was THICK and everything was covered in ash. was like an apocalyptic scene.

Why am I not surprised? So, typical. Anecdotal, at best.

Regardless, we're pretty good here in the mountains. It's dry and hot, that's for sure, but not anything like what the Front Range has been experiencing. I can see the smoke haze, but it's cleared out. Obviously, we're all hoping for rain.

FYI, fire restrictions are, of course, in effect, 4th of July Fireworks displays have been cancelled. Not a surprise.

    Hope everyone's safe.

I can't even imagine dealing with a tragedy like this...from those poor people that are in harms way and those that have already lost everything, it seems like most of the Rockies are on fire :(

Say a prayer for the brave men and women fighting those fires in hellish conditions.

This was on my drive home last night. I had to go up Centennial, then Vindicator then Rockrimmon to finally get over to I25. My drive home last night took 3 hours. My business is closed today under mandatory evac. I hope my network stays up, they shut down all utilities just across the street from work. I couldn't open the windows because the smoke choked you. I couldn't run the air because it was 100 plus and when the car isn't moving, it really wants to overheat. Absolutely miserable. Total chaos. This pic was about 5:15 pm.

Some friends had to leave their home at the Air Force Academy. The fire is about 1/2 mile from there place now.

We drove up from Clovis, NM to Denver and the smoke was starting to get thick this past weekend. Almost feels like being back in AK. The Fires there are much worse each year, it is just that no one lives in the areas that burn, which is a good thing.

Colorado Springs has been hit very hard. The Boulder fire is working its way toward down the mountain toward town slowly. We have not had high winds from dry thunderstorms yet today which is good. The Boulder fire is zero percent contained at this time.

Taken from my roof a couple of hours ago. Flames were visible earlier.

I remember the Four Mile Fire two years ago here in Boulder. I was riding my bike down Sunshine today and there is still visible damage and folks rebuilding.
There was a lightning storm this afternoon and I heard even more small fires were started.

Hopefully we'll get a break from the heat. While that won't maybe slow the fire much, it may make the work conditions a little easier.

But, the fire's course and ferocity is wind dependent. So, let's hope for calm, cooler weather. And some rain.
