Airplanes are for sissies. Real men drive...with the top down, braving the weather and all that stuff. There are some great stetches in Nevada (hwy 51?) where you go straight for about 10 miles and then through a winding stretch up a mountain, then down to another straight again and so forth. Most fun I've ever had with my clothes on. Ferrari of Denver told me that as far as they know Ferrari is not doing anything special at Pebble even though it's their 60th anniversary. Bummer. After Pebble we are going to Sonoma and Napa for some serious wine tasting and dining. The Ferrari Carrano winery is gorgeous and their wines are fantastic (of course).
I'll be driving but not from here. Depending on what day you're going to reach, I can hook up with you and we can make it from the Bay Area to Pebble.
Can't make it this year but hope to next year. Bummer. And you are right about Nevada (it's US 50 (actually US 6&50) you're thinking of). Used to be a time when Nevada had no speed limits. When you got near a town sign said reduce speed when you exited the town sign said resume speed. Those were the days...man oh man! Anyway have a good time and be safe.
Yes. Hwy 50. What a fabulous drive. Winding parts. Straight parts. Lots of variety. Too much fun. There's a speed limit? LOL Don't see many other cars or trucks let alone officers of the law.
