I've found a concourse red 328 that I'm seriously considering. However, my color preference is black on tan. The dealer says the reds have a higher resale/ appreciation value. Any opinions?

Also, can anyone advise on the sound systems? I like to play music loud and was considering customizing the sound system. Would that affect the value?

    Thanks.

It sounds like my last car would have been perfect. She had a custom sub woofer enclosure that almost looked like it belonged there and the sound was awesome! Here are a few pics.

Reds,Blacks,Yellows.Silvers,Greys all look good on the 308/328. You can't go wrong. Just go with what you want rather than what the market dictates,i.e resale etc..JMO

Boston Sportscar has a nice black on tan 328 available. I looked at it last week, but decided I would rather a red one. :) It has 37k miles, but was in very nice overall condition and just had the 30k service done in January. You could definitely get that car for $43-44k.

The red one is my current car. I sold the black car back in Sept. It's a shame because that one would have been perfetc for you!

OK, thanks. I see you owned a Porsche Targa. I owned a 1996 993 Targa. How do think the two cars will compare?

Gus, why did you sell that 328 anyway? Just sick of the upkeep of black??

All of the targa-topped cars that I have ever owned had one thing in common; they leaked. I love them though. The 328 is a much more intense experience overall than the 911 in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I loved my Carreras very much. They actually make a lot more sense as driver's cars but remember, Ferraris aren't about sense. Compared to the your 993, the 328 is going to feel archaic. Everything is stiff and compromising where the 993 has a very refined, well-engineered feel to it. Then you'll turn the 328 on and start driving and by the time you reach 7,000 RPM you'll realize why we have no problem defying all reason to own one of these things. They're awesome!

    Jerry,

You're right. The black was just too much of a chore for me. I drive my cars regularly and it drove me nuts when I'd spend hours detailing the car and it stayed clean for 5 minutes.
