I heard that some Ferraris participated in today's Columbus day parade. Anybody from on here? Frank?

Sheesh, I wonder who organized this?

It wasn't FOC I know that much and FCA didn't have anything in the planning (nor would it be their kind of thing). So who is behind this? Do we have an "underground Ferrari scene" in this town we don't know about? Strange.

That 400i looks like Giovanni's. Maybe he organized it with some customers/friends?

PS: Thanks KingPayam for posting these shots. The power of the Internet always amazes me.

Just talked to Mike E.: It was an impromptu thing from Giovanni and his buddies. Mike was in it as well with the Stradale. Cool!

If I had known, I had gone there and taken some pics, ah well.

Yes Giovanni did this last minute. I think he is on the board. We had 20 F cars I think. Alfa, and Fiat and Mazerati's were also in attendence. I had My 308 with a Christopher Columbus boat tied to the overhead wing. It was fun but I think my left leg grew from the clutch.

Sounds a bit like our experience when we did a similar thing at the Lombard parade in May: You wait for hours, then you get going at a turtle's pace for a few blocks.

I hope somebody took some pics and will post them later.

No,it wasn't me. I asked on an open thread here on Chicago FChat, both Last Year AND This Year if anyone wanted to do it. As,I have a couple of contacts, one at the Office of Special Events in Chicago, and we could have done it. And,in previous Years, had only seen ONE Ferrari!....in an Italian themed Parade!!! But I got ZERO response! Not even a "Sorry,I can't,gotta work that day". So,it's great to see that someone else did. And,hopefully,it can be an annual thing. I will be glad to join in next year, for sure! Hats off to Giovanni!!!!

FOC and FCA people still like each other right? Its not a Cubs and Sox thing is it? I met the two head honchos of each and could not think of a bad vibe in their character at all. Why not more harmony or cooperation in planning events? Perhaps a trade, one of their outgoing people for one of the other therefore the events will be planned together.

As far as I'm concerned we like each other. That might not be true for every individual person in either club, but not everybody loves each other outside of the club world either.

It can't be a Cubs vs Sox thing simply by the size of the clubs. FOC is a lot smaller and also has a different focus.

The Columbus day parade was not a FCA event, but an initiative by Giovanni from Autosprint. He basically invited his customers and friends.

FOC events are always open to everybody (FOC, FCA and non members, although non members might not qualify for some of our trophies) and actually a few months back we had FCA folks including Mike E. on our LSD event.
