Another one from me as well. Ron was also the first person I met from the F-Chat community before the Derby-Q. I wish you well and a speedy recovery. Happy 4th of July. Thanks.
Ron, just ANOTHER note from me. I am sure you are reading everyones thoughts and comments. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Get well Ron: Maybe Ferrari can make you a Hyperbolic chamber that loooks something like this! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does a hyperbaric chamber help with the burns? If so, the news said last night that St. Mary's or Good Sam was getting rid of theirs. If they are going to trash it, let's it to to Boca and we can keep Ron in there until he is healed. BT
They are not gettting rid of it, judt no longer treating the bends. I believe it will still available for other uses. Scottie
60 feet and shallower is open water. below is advanced. Getting 'narced' is usually 100 foot or deeper.
Hronis, I've read these threads and I hope they lift your spirits(thank you EVERYONE) 'cause they are created with Love! You're on my mind, in my heart, and in my prayers! S'Agapo! I believe in Miracles, always have, and now.... I ALWAYS WILL! Josie See you for Dinner!
I went down to spend some time with him. I'm not sure he will ahve the energy to report in, so here is an update. He is looking better and seems to be healing nicelty, but he says that the pain is starting to catch up with him. The doctors had warned that as the tissue healed the nerves would start to get more active. In all, he was in good spirits, was overwhelmed by all the support, and wanted to thank everyone for being there for him. Oh, he thinks that the paramedics pocketed the cash he had on him, so if anyone feels like taking on a station full of firemen let me know and we can go collect. Scottie
Are you kidding? I hope this is a joke. How much did he have on him? I am willing to make a call if you can tell me the Fire Company/Paramedic Unit that helped him. This is disgusting. What else is missing?
Check with the hospital first, they may have it. I had to call the ambulance to take my mother to the emergency room a few weeks ago, and they needed her license and all of the insurance forms that were in her purse once we got there. Since I was there with here, they gave it back to me. Maybe someone in the emergency room has it locked up since they dont like people keeping valuables in their rooms. Off topic, Did they find out what caused Rons car to catch on fire? The engine is in the back so I am surprised that the front of the car caught on fire. Was the impact of the crash from the back, puncturing the gas tank and then forcing the gas to go towards the front of the car? Just hope Ferrari didnt decide to take advantage of a good deal on leftover Ford Pinto gas tanks.
Hronis, I'm happy you're here with us to see this day! How about a dinner from Basil Garden? I'll bring you your favorite dishes, just let me know! You were out cold last night when I came to see you. Your nurse was pretty rough on you too, but thank goodness you don't remember it(the wonder of drugs)! Stay strong! I put your vitamins on the table so remember to take them! I miss you and can't wait to see you. Me

Just Being There Acting As A Guardian One of the greatest gifts we can give another human being is to act as their guardian. Whether this gift is related to a specific situation or is representative of an ongoing commitment, we each benefit from the association. To protect someone is to walk with them in challenging times and see them through safely to the other side. In doing this, we grow with them. And those under our guardianship derive confidence from our support and assistance, enabling them to persevere through almost any conditions. There are many reasons we feel inspired to serve as guardians to those we care for. Sometimes just holding the space for somebody allows them to do what is necessary to grow or heal. We may simply want to see that our friend or loved one is taken care of and equipped to prevail over difficult circumstances. We may also sense that we are in possession of knowledge our loved ones are lacking yet need in their current stage of development. Our offer to serve as a guardian may also be both unsolicited and unrelated to any one situation. Instead of helping someone we care about cope with a specific challenge, we may find ourselves providing them with a more general form of emotional sustenance that prepares and strengthens them for challenges yet to come. Our ability to empathize with those under our guardianship is our greatest asset because our comprehension of their needs allows us to determine how we can best serve them. Even when this comprehension is limited, however, the loving intentions with which we enter into our role as guardian ensure that our care and protection help others grow as individuals while living their lives with grace.
Ron thinks he had about $300 in his pocket. They even mentioned it at the scene. It was not there when they checked him in at the hospital. Only his Audi key credit and insurance cards made it to the cashier at the hospital. Bad move by someone. Scottie
Ron, Just another get well quick from me. And once youre healed and feeling better, if you ever feel the need for another Boxer fix, even though its on the wrong coast, you can borrow my car anytime. John
...might be worth contacting them - they're likely able to determine which unit exactly responded to the call and also find out if this was a one-time "oversight".
Some EMT guys are thieves.... I had a friend that had his rolex stolen when he had an accident on his Bike. I personally had sunglassses stolen by a EMT person. You just have to love those $1500 rides to the hospital, even when the hospital is only 4 miles away.
This is Ron's oldest daughter and I just wanted to let you all know that I feel so much better knowing he has the love and support of so many people. I went down immediately following the accident but had to return home for school and work. It was really hard to leave, and I call the doctors and nurses several times a day, but I feel very grateful to all of you for the support both online and in person. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for all you do and have done. You are such wonderful friends and people! -Raini Paul
