Note, however, the two short sentences at the bottom. That's the main reason I'm hesitant about ordering. ;)

    Well,
    I'm also hesitating.......
Dollar / euro conversion makes it very attractive.........(2916,35 in euro's)

A few years ago it this was 25% more expensive for us euroboys!

Thanks for the 'heads up', Peter, but I think that's a misprint - and should actually read 1:8 (not 1/18).

If you look in the corner of the showcase, you can see the R-A-R / GMP brochure for their 1:8 P4.

    It measures approx 22cms x 14cms (folded). Scale it off .... ;)

So there is going to be a 1:18 release? When? How much?
God, I'll have to get a second job with all these new Ferrari models coming this year.

To me the 1/18 scale models presented look like some sort of Elite or High End versions of the Jouef/Eagle/Universal Hobbies 330 P4.

Hopefully it will be rather better than 'original versions', Peter. :)

These are the other images captioned '1/18' from that Tacot.com Nürnberg Toy Fair photo gallery.

The main 'giveaways' to the scale are the size of the hinges on the roll-over hoop, and comparatively thicker body panel mouldings.

Just purely out of interest, you understand ....

.... I called GMP this afternoon. Let's just say that they didn't deny the 'possibility of a 1:18 P4 in the pipeline'. ;)

But it's at least a year away. And, of course, there will, no doubt, be the inevitable sub-licensing issues with Mattel to be resolved. :(

Man , what drugs are you on? Have you seen up close a Joueff or Eagle's Race 330P 3/4 ? Mattel Elite?! Their 250 GTO is worst than Bburago's 20 years old $15 model.
It upsets me beyond comprehension when people make comments like this.

Thanks for the useful link, Peter.

If you go to the website shown in the photo at the top of that message board: www.auto-und-modell.de ....

.... and click on this link: http://www.auto-und-modell.de/content/detail.php?sess=3AGp2Z2H5BJDjAwRlAwyzLGNkLwRjZmWzLGRkMzRkZmVkLGLkAGtmBGLlLGAvZzZ&Content=166

    There are a load more photos of GMP's 1:8 and 1:18 P4's. :)

Also some other very interesting prototype work, including a Dino 246GT and a large scale brass 250GTO at the bottom of the page. ;)

Relax, I'm only talking about the presented model that's clearly in the prototype phase. I do notice the extra detailing but overall shape and dimensions and some details as well as the stance are very similar to the Joueff version. I'm just guessing but maybe GMP took a Joueff to start from for this prototype just to show people that they're working on a 1/18 scale version as well. Exoto did the same with the 500 F2. The first pictures they published were of a 1/20 Revival version. Heck, CMC first produced a 1/16 scale prototype of their 1/18 500 F2.

There's clearly a big difference in quality between the 1/8 and 1/18 scale versions (look at the shut lines of the engine cover). In my opinion too big a difference for the 1/18 to be a final version.

But examining the pictures more closely I stand corrected. There are too many differences with the Joueff version.

Having spoken with Mark Sanderson, General Manager of GMP Diecast, this afternoon ....
I think it should be pointed out that there may be errors in the photo gallery, on the www.auto-und-modell.de web page linked above.
The photos of various GMP / Real Art Replica models shown at Nuremburg should end with the first image in the third row from bottom - with the close-up of the yellow drag rail motor. The prototype model Dino 206/246GT; TestaRossa; F40 Competizione; 312T2 F1 and both the 'brass kit' and 'plated' 250GTO's are from other manufacturers who were also displaying their wares at Nuremburg - not GMP Diecast.

What scale is the 312T2 or 312T5 and who will produce it???? Looks nice! Also by any chance what other 1:18 Ferraris GMP will produce other then the 330 P4?

Actually, it's probably my fault .... because I don't read German.
They appear to have combined at least two manufacturer's wares onto one page / gallery.

If you copy and paste the latter part of the German text into http://babelfish.altavista.com/ .... it comes out something like this:

Completely surely weakly will could I each year at the conditions of Make UP Eidolon, a noble manual work model label from Japan. Filigrane of small works of art on all-highest level develop there and it are each year a joy, this Schaetzchen once out next feed to see - is not, as if it would lead the dealer around the corner in large number in the assortment. With Eidolon a very beautiful Ferrari Testarossa is new and shortly becomes Eidolon a Dino 246 GT after-puts, which becomes surely a top model! There I already look forward to the conditions 2009. To see numerous variants of the running version Ferrari of the F40 were, how each year the GTO kit would type ultradetailierte 250 in 1:43 and then a great large-scale model of the GTO, I times on 1:12. I do not have mad details however after prices rather in demand...

I'd been searching around the 'Net looking for some decent photos of this model, last week .... with little success. :(

All I'd managed to find since, was this one here on 'The Motorsport Collector's website:

    http://www.motorsportcollector.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=972

Although it states, lower down the page: 'We have additional photos' - the link doesn't work.

So, no sooner than he was back from Nuremburg, I was on the phone / email to Mark Sanderson of GMP, hassling him for photos.
Mark kindly, and very promptly, replied with a few - some of which were used in their 1:8 P4 brochure card. :)

Please note that these photos are of the pre-production prototype. Images are copyright GMP Diecast / Real Art Replicas ©.

Rear ¾ / overhead view looks very nice ! :)

I suspect that the thread pitch on the front stub axles might not be quite exactly to scale, though - for practical reasons, obviously. ;)
