    Good afternoon all! Houston bound from Denver. Although I will certainly miss my Rocky Mountains, where I've called home for 24 years, I look forward to a longer driving season. I'm focusing on housing in Spring. It seems like a good compromise between where my primary customer is (just south of Memorial Park -- inside 610 on the north side of 59), and The Woodlands. I'm a member of FCA and have joined the Houston Chapter. Are there some other car groups I might look at joining?

    The nice folks at Lamborghini of Houston have several events a year, some jointly with the local Ferrari club.

    As I did in Denver, I'm considering starting an "Axis Motorwerks" group. Anything Italian or German. :) Fiat to Ferrari, Vespa to Ducati, VW to Porsche. Fun group. brunches, happy hours, weekend cruise.

    You will have your 'pick' of groups, here in Houston; PCA, FCA, BMWCCA, and more track time than you can shake a stick at! MSR Houston, Grand Sport, Texas World Speedway (closing soon, I know) Harris Hill Road and more!

    Of course, there's nothing like a weekend cruise through the national forest, or more than a few remote long straights to see what your car will do up top!

    There's a THRIVING performance automotive community, here in Houston!

    I did the same in 2009, after Colorado Springs and Denver was my home for a decade.

    Spring is a wonderful area, I am just south of there.

    Welcome to Houston! FCA is active in Houston. We meet once in a month for Brunch and other socials. I hang out with Lambo guys too. Lot of options here.

    I will be at the FCA brunch on the 11th! Unfortunately, Isabella won't be in town for another week or so.
    Is anyone else into Karting? Seems like a fun, and much cheaper way to get a good racing thrill.

    There is K1 Speed (electric indoor karting) which is a riot! They have a league and all the goodies. MSR Houston has a serious outdoor kart track with 8 hp rental karts.

    Of course you have the top 2 kart racers in the country here (8-12 yr old category) based out of Houston. Karting is no small affair, here, either.

    GCKI is great, but you do have to own your own kart.

    The other rental opportunities are Track 21 (west side) indoor gas karts and Pole Position (south side) indoor electric karts, the same as K1.

    Grady Owens had a great idea that we should do a tour of all four tracks in one day, but we haven't gotten around to doing it yet. Maybe in February?

    I think the way k1 is run is a little better, and you don't leave smelling lIke gas. Although there is the argument about the manly factor. :p

    We should do a Fchat karting event.

    Those damn karts at K1 always annoy me because of the lag! Is that just the way the electric karts operate or are they designed that way as a "safety" factor?
