I was just up there from last Friday-Tuesday. I stayed at the Four-Seasons on 57th. Amazing hotel and they have a Phantom and Maybach 57 that you can use whenever during the day!

I would say a Hotel is probably your best bet but if not check out these places:

    www.cyberrentals.com

    www.craigslist.com

Both have TONS of places to choose from and I have used both for this on several occassions for my FL trips before I got a place. All depends on your budget.

Check out nymag.com for recommendations on just about everything and what's happening around the city. As a New Yorker, I read it religiously. I don't spend a whole lot of time around Gramercy, but a couple of restaurants in your area that I'd recommend are Gramercy Tavern, Gotham Bar & Grill and Casa Mono (be prepared to wait for the last).
