Built using the chassis and engine from 330 GT s/n 7123, but with a 365 GT transmission. Put together in the 1982 by Robert Falano. Failed to sell at Mecum Monterey last August (supposed high bid of $150K). Now offered with an asking price of $250K.

    My opinion? Hideous.

I've seen this in person on numerous occasions (Ferrari events Cars and Coffee etc) and not only is the build quality terrible but the proportions are way off. It's honestly awful.

If you are looking for a good replica of a TR then this is not it.

Difficult to value but at the asking price, it is a lot of money for what is effectively a kit car

That should not stop anyone buying, it is - if you think about it - true for about every single fake out there. It all goes down if you are knowledgeable enough to see the incorrect proportions.

Agree that's an ugly looking thing.

Kare, I agree with your point on knowledge but incorrect proportions extend beyond the fakes to many badly restored cars

Ugly, not even worth $150,000 for such an obvious fake. It would be akin to buying a fake Rolex and over paying

There is just the engine and some other components that you can use as spare parts. The rest is crap.

I notice that the VIN tag even looks wrong. It was apparently stamped on a somewhat soft surface; compare with the pix in the "I buy 365GT 2+2" thread, and others.

Too bad. I wouldn't mind owning such a car if "correct." I know, I know...

It is fake and out of proportion, and maybe not worth the asking price. But I don't think it is ugly.

    Thanks for all the comments.

My involvement started when a friend asked me what I thought of the car. I replied:

Does not look very much like a real one. You could always re-body it as a 330GT 2+2.

I am happy that most agree.
