I've heard good and bad about them. I drive by there a couple of times a week and would be glad to look at it for you and help arrange for a PPI. Shoot me a pm.
Get a PPI by someone who knows what they're looking at . I too have heard mixed reports on this place. If you do decide to purchase the car ,make sure all promised services and or extras that accompany the car are accounted for.
Owner is Gene Morales (sp?). Decent guy, but no matter what get a PPI. Although my feeling is he's a decent guy, there are other people with good and bad opinions. Each car is unique, so it's up to you to familiarize yourself as much as possible before jumping in. For that car, I would suggest a PPI at either: 1) Tim Stanford 2) Black Horse (Christian or Stuart)
That is a LOT of money for a 246. A LOT. For that kind of dough you better make sure you get all the papers, have a full and detailed PPI done (Stanford for sure since he owned those himself). Call Tim first and find out if he has a business conflict with the guy. If you seriously want to buy a 246 for this money you should make sure 200% that what you get is the very best car out there. Full details of the restoration, who had done it, when, complete bills from the resto, all books and tools in excellent condition. I cannot believe those little turds are going for that money.
I just looked at the car two days ago, take a look at http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=254566 The car looks better in the pictures than it does in real life...is in 3+ shape. pm me for more info
Intersting comments and they match my first impressions. I live close to the store and whole situation would make me uneasy for that kind of money. If I was from out of town I would probably send my own out of town expert to survey the car. Preferably, somebody that has restoration experience producing best in class 246 winners.
I think this car used to park next to me in downtown Ft Lauderdale. Owned by a German chap, I believe, who worked for a cruise line. I think it had an aftermarket exhaust that used to set off alarms. Those showroom photos are really annoying. They reveal very little about the car.
