Is it possible to register a passenger car as a commercial vehicle? The plate has the black lettering rather than blue.

I cant see anything on the service ontario website that says you CANT.

I believe the black letter plates are for trucks. As such even a commercial car continues to have blue letter plates. I may be wrong on this one as I went though it a some years back and cannot remember the details. Have a look at the back of a taxi and see if the plates are black or blue. That should give you the answer.

I've only had to register plates once and it was for a farmer who bought a X5 from me and it was for working on his farm apparentley;), I can't remember the rules but I think if you're in city limits then it's limited to moving trucks/vans etc., easy enough to find out though. What are they benefits?
