Can anyone who has driven both give me some first hand knowledge about the difference between the GTO and the HGTE? I have an HGTE and a GTO on the way and I'm just curious as to what you all consider to be the difference in driving experience, handling, acceleration and exhaust note. Thanks...

Absolutely. Check the thread called "GTO My first impressions" . He has written a very interesting article on his HGTE/GTO experience.

That's a great analysis. I can't wait to experience the GTO for myself. Thanks.

Having had a HGTE and now having a GTO, I think that part that surprised me the most was not the performance of the GTO (which I expected), but the drivability. It drives and handles better than a HGTE around town. The breadth of what the car can do is amazing. Sport mode and auto it rides like a GTB, and it's much quieter inside than a CS or Scud, yet it will out track either one. Tte breaks are grabby/touchy a little pedal does alot! You find yourself over breaking at first! Simply an amazing car! I did track my HGTE and was very impressed. I have not had the opportunity to track my GTO yet, so, I would have to go with what M-Individual said as to the track capabilities of the GTO. I ordered mine with a stereo, leather and electric seats. I'm glad I did, as it is a car you can drive everyday should you want. You WILL find yourself driving around with the windows down, stereo off, listening to that amazing V12 stereo!!

This is exactly why I think that this car will eventually go down in history as being truly special. The first 'super' Ferrari that was successfully able to bridge extreme with comfort.
