Seriously thinking of stepping into the 'exotic' import market by the spring and would like to hear some thoughts from those of you with experience of the above cars. The car I end up with will not be a DD but I do hope to put about 5K miles/year on it.
Four things in particular I'm interested in:

1: Street driving: e.g. ride; handling; power; comfort for longer journeys; (a couple of hours seat time); idiots gawking at the car and associated 'bad manners' from some, etc.

2: Road course use: I will be taking the car to my local road courses where I've been driving in the advanced group for over 16 years, and like to be competitive. The cars will be on either Corsas, or DOT R rated rubber. I don't intend to modify the cars much at all except for 4/5 point harness, etc. I'm interested in which car will be the quickest around a typical roadcourse and which one I'll have the most fun driving.

3: Maintenance/Running costs: One reason I haven't already bought into the exotic scene is due to the fact that my nearest Lambo or Ferrari dealership is about 4 hours drive away and maintenance issues have always worried me. It seems that the recent Gallardos are pretty solid as are the 'Scuds, so perhaps it isn't an issue any more. I'm not worried about insurance costs, etc. only what I might expect re: reasonable annual costs for a car that is driven about 5K miles/year and tracked about 8-10 times/year. One more thing here: CCM brakes or stay with the steel rotors? not an issue with the Scud I know.

4: Options: what are the most necessary options to look for in the car?

(Currently I'm leaning towards a Scud as I'm thinking it will be more rewarding on the track and the F1 Superfast transmission will be much more enjoyable to use, but if the 560-4 is faster and it can be bought for about $30K less it may change my mind).

    Any help/thoughts/advice appreciated.

    Bish

PS: Is an '08 599 F1 rewarding on track and is it a worthy choice vs a Scud? I ask since the prices are very close.
