Hello, To all ferrari owners. I want to start a registry of all ferraris, there serial numbers, previous owners, colors, conditions, miles, ect. I want to create a complete database of ferrari information. I have some information all ready but I need all of your help. I think it would be great for all of us, so that we could know what was going on and who had what, ect. Please let me know what you all think, I would be very curious to see. Thanks
I think you will have some trouble. Many owners especially the collectors are very private and would really not like that information known. Many of my clients are like that. Wish you luck.
Ya we created a complete McLaren Registry it was very nice, it allowed buyers and sellers to see whats out there and what exits. A lot of collectors found it very helpful when tying to sell or trade up, or move into the industry. I think a complete registry would allow everyone to be more involved, and understand what is happening in the market. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
Great idea .... BUT .... it's not gonna work. Rifledriver is dead on. World has gotten to crazy for this kind of info to be hangin out there.
You've posted this in a bit of a strange place, if I may say so. Should be under General Ferrari Discussion. You are never going to get all Ferraris listed. There are too many and more being produced all the time (50 or so Mclarens, or 200 maybe if you include the racing cars; 100,000+ Ferraris). I don't, though, especially agree with RifleDriver and CarCrazy as there are already a number of registries out there and many on here are willing add their details to the various threads for their particular model. Some of the owners' clubs around the world also keep their own registries. If you want to do it, why not have a go and see where you get to. Here are some links to existing registries: 308 GTB Register www.308gtb.de 308 QV Register www.308qvregister.com 328 Registry http://ferrari328.com/registry 330 Register www.330register.com 330 GT Registry www.parrotbyte.com/330GTRegistry Barchetta (Information on history of cars etc.) www.barchetta.cc/english/all.ferraris Daytona Registry www.ferrariregistry.net/registry Dino 208-308 GT4 Registry www.dino-gt4-registry.com Dino Register www.dinoregister.com F512M Register (plus Testarossa information and VIN decoder) www.red-headed.com Jonathan
For vintage Ferrari, moderately good registries exist, but I mostly rely upon Ferrari Market Letter resources and other well known experts. Some of those experts provide much welcomed assistance to members on the FerrariChat. While greatly appreciated by owners (lots of fake cars, etc.) maintaining the Shelby Registry requires a highly organized and structured effort and there is a much smaller number of cars and a much closer knit community. FYI, the 328 Registry you listed has been wounded for a long time (I have repeatedly sent data and photos on the car I owned) and now appears to be dead (data base empty.)
Thanks, I will check out the Ferrari Market Letter. Also Thanks to Jonathan for all of the info, I will keep you guys updated on what I can come up with. You are probably right that the market won't let something like that happen, because registry of current cars may cause some problems where as historical or older cars would not.
Jonathan looks like that last site you posted: F512M Register (plus Testarossa information and VIN decoder) www.red-headed.com Doesn't work anymore, just to let know, thanks. Grant Manny
The F40 registry will come in the middle of the year - when time is enough to finish it under www.f40.org
Thanks. I also spotted that myself just after I had posted and have e-mailed Edvar who runs the site (and posts on here) to find out what's happened to it. Jonathan
Thanks. I should have checked the links were all up-to-date before I posted them. I don't know of anyone that has anything approaching a complete database of all Ferraris (although FML probably come as close as anyone). I should think Gerald or Carbon will give you some idea, but I'm sure they'll have a much greater proportion of US cars than those from around the world. Many of those that do gather such information tend to concentrate on specific models. Jonathan
You are Quoting 355 Production Numbers. There are probably close to 17,000 360s; give or take. YIKES !!!
