Compression test results: How do these numbers look??

    Cyl 1: 210
    Cyl 2: 205
    Cyl 3: 205
    Cyl 4: 210
    Cyl 5: 225
    Cyl 6: 225
    Cyl 7: 210
    Cyl 8: 210

The test was done on a cold motor. Did not have Wide Open Throttle (forgot), did not put oil in the cylinders.

    Thanks guys, good to know.

Would a leak down test still be necessary?

Never hurts, sometimes it will find other hidden problems.

Just to be sure, I think it should be done.

Does anyone know how any tricks or tips to get TDC with the motor in the car, and limited room in the garage? So rolling it in 6th gear is probably not an option.

Rolling in sixth is the easiest way for sure, you could try removing the clutch inspection cover [2 10mls under bell housing] and turning the flywheel with a screwdriver in neutal should work.

Just an update, Rolling in 6th worked to get TDC, it wasn't too difficult.

The leak down numbers were all 7 - 8%. Again, this was done on a cold motor like the compression test.

From what I have read, these numbers seem to be okay but not great? Is there anything else that should be looked at before pulling the motor for the major service?
