I went to start my 04 360 coupe Saturday. I punched the button on the key box, heard the usual beaps, and the car started, but weakly. The hazard lights were blinking even though I hadn't touched the hazard light button. The car had barely any power would barely move down the driveway. I turned the car off and the instrument panel was acting like a Las Vegas slot machine. All sorts of strange lights going off and on and wierd electical type noises coming from out of the dash. And the hazard lights would not turn off. I tried several times to re-set things with the key button, the car would start but acted the same. I got it back in the garage, turned it off, then turned off the battery in the front compartment. I let it sit for 15-20 minutes, turned it back on and the hazards were still blinking and the instrument panel was still acting wierd. Turned the battery off again and checked later and still same problem.

So Monday morining I called the dealer and made arrangements to flat bed the car in. They thought it might be a low battery, but this is my daily driver and the car does not sit more than a day, and I've had no indication of a low battery. Anyway I turn the battery back on and start the car and back it out into the drive for the tow truck, and low and behold, this time it's re-set and everything is back to normal. I drove the car all day, no problem.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks...

    I have an idea..........

How about Ferrari finally builds a car that can last more than a year or so without breaking down. Especially one that is daily driven like yours for cripes sake.....

Hey Ferrari, how about using a timing CHAIN instead of a flimsy belt........

Imagine how mad you would be if your '04 Honda was having these issues. Heck, you would freak if your Hyundai was having these issues this early.

How crazy is it that Ferrari has driven our expectations down to the point where this is acceptable and that I will probably have been the ONLY post/response like this. Sad.

I love my Ferrari. I love how it drives and sounds and looks great just sitting there, but this is ridiculous.

    Rant over.......

OK, there may be some truth to your rant. But, OTOH, computer problems on other cars, more boring cars, are certainly not unheard of. For example, the fancy BMW 7 series had huge problems when it first came out. A nearby neighbor friend of ours just bought an E series Mercedes a month ago. In the first month she was totally stranded 3 times due to system failures. They took it back and gave her a new car. The gear shift lever on my wifes E class came unbolted and left me with a Mercedes with no neutral, no reverse. Fortunately I was smart enough to not turn it off and not pull into a closed area before I got it to the dealer.

And, I've got a Honda, an NSX. Change the oil every 3k, new rear tires every 6k, and you can drive it at red line all day long with the AC on in hundred degree weather. It's bullet-proof. And my kids are all driving Honda Accords. All bullet proof.

But I still drive the F-car every day....

With an unlimited miles 3 year warranty, with free towing/roadside service...it's a no-brainer...

Oh, BTW, back to the original thread....any ideas on the F-car glitch.....

I think it just needs a new battery.
