Here's my situation: I have a closet full of guitar sheet music that I've collected over the last 20 years. Since it takes up so much space and is gradually deteriorating what I'd like to do ideally is transfer everything onto my computer and store it all on CD. I've considered digitally photographing the pages as well as scanning--both have disadvantages. I've got an HP 7300-series printer/scanner. Does anyone know of an ideal way to do this?

The hardest part is sitting there scanning all the sheets. I did that a while back with some paperwork for a friend. I saved it all to .pdf files. I used a program called scanout that I downloaded for free. It will let you put a lot of pages into one file.

Mine will convert them to pdf as well, and I'll probably do that. I'm just not excited about the hours in front of the scanner!

I think pdf is the way to go.

You can look for a scanner with a sheet feeder or poss. find a company to scan them for you.
