Monterey Car Week 2021 was fabulous. There seemed to be an even bigger turnout at Concorso Italiano than 2019. The Maserati section had a great turnout as there were original Ghibli's, Bora's and Merak's in attendance. Here is my own Ghibli displayed with Maserati luggage.

What a great looking car. I have always thought that the styling of the Series 2 Sebring has been under appreciated. It is taunt and aggressive and has a great stance and the greenhouse looks just right.

"recognized" is about right and about all. From what I can deduce Lamborghini's 50th anniversary and new model announcement seems to have blown away any interest at all in the Bora's birthday ... :(

So where are all the Boras?

Thanks Gene. I did see that he scored well and so fitting considering the years of his attendance and the cars he's brought.

Yes I'm not very impressed with what I see either though I do hope everyone enjoyed themselves.
It's a far cry from the 1988 event when Maserati was the marque and many other years as well.
So sad considering Maserati gave birth to this event.

The trouble with Pebble Beach for the non journalist is access and the overwhelming crowds.

Can you report on the Maserati representation there?

Maserati representation at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance wasn't great but about usual. Highlight was an A6G Zagato in the final four group for Best in Show. Otherwise, there was a 3500GT and an A6GCS. Not a lot of room for Maserati when Pininfarina, Iso, and the Countach were among the featured classes.

The 3500 GT was from Japan, and stunning! It was LHD, which is strange for Japan.

In Japan they have always wanted left hand drive cars like in Modena, all 31 Khamsins sold new there were LHD for example, admirable in a way but must be hell at the toll booth if alone!

They're also far more marketable when the time comes to sell. RHD countries  ;) :p

I was told that it is(was) a status symbol in Japan to drive a high end European car with LHD?
