Concorso Italiano - Ferrari Convoy????

Hi, Black Horse.

Per our conversation earlier, I will have my shoot schedule later this week, and I will let you know; hence, for now, I am tentative.

Perfusion and I were just talking about this last night. It looks like the convoy I've gone with before has disbanded. Santana Row seems like a great spot to meet, near freeways and it is now the "usual spot." I'd like to be on the road around by 6am to avoid testing all of my new raditaor hoses more than necessary.

Judging by how the West Coast 308 Meet went this year (it didn't), someone needs to organize it to make it happen, and this requires just the right amount of involvement for me, so here it is:

I will be at Santana Row at 5:45. A very small amount of chatting will be followed by departure at 6:00:00.0am bound for Concorso, over 17 and down 1.

If you want to drive slow, lead the way. If you want to drive fast, leave last. Sounds counter intuitive, but it is really true.

Peet's doesn't open until 6:30, so come prepared. And I'm going to sign Perfusion up wether he likes it or not.

I am doing the volunteer gig @concorso this year, and driving down in the Maserati. I prob need to be there (black horse) at 6am, so I will be waking up super early. It is laso a day trip, so I am likely to miss all the cool parties. I did Quail last year and exhibited the Ferrari, mostly because I was tired of the near-overheating panic at the entrance to Concorso, and because of the raves about the food. I still have a picture of my kids playing with a pyramid of empty martini glasses.
If you guys gather early enough I can swing by SR. Otherwise I will prob help you check in.

 

I will be placing my 308 at the Concorso Thursday but will be driving back Friday morning with a non Fcar, so I will just follow you guys.
I agree with Brian Harper, someone NEED to organize this 308 meets/gathering and Make It Happen

 

We're in the process of finding replacement accommodations..so won't be able to commit just yet..

Thanks for the update. It is going to be a LONG day for me. SWEET! 3:30 am here I come!

I'll be the passenger in Black Horse Rob's 308.

 

I will be showing off the crack in the front spoiler. Don't have time for the body shop to fix it before the show.

 

Are we leaving at 6:00 or 6:30? If 6:30, I'm not interested in standing in the SR parking lot in the dark for 45 minutes, so I'll arrive a little later. If we're leaving at 6:00, I'll see everyone at 5:45....

 

I should be at Rob's between 4:15 & 4:30. We should be down at SR hopefully around 5:15/5:30. Then hit up Pete's for some wake up juice and be ready to go by 6:00. HEY ROB, does that work for you?

 

That's my plan and I'm sticking to it. I've always arrived relatively early to Concorso and never regretted it.

I got that info from their web site. It may or may not be accurate.

 

Well, it looks like it is juat the three of us, and Blackhorse wants 6:30 and I just read that Concorso is holding the spectator doors shut for an extra half hour to get everyone settled and delay the onset of traffic back-up around the event, so let's make it a 6:30am departure. And the Starbucks in Santana Row opens at 5:00! It is in the middle of the mall next to Magianno's and Wahooo Fish Taco.

 

Check. Car's all oiled up, tire pressures set, etc. See you at 6:00!

I will be in my 456 and my friend will be in his porsche.

Saw you guys on 101 around 6:45 heading south. Looked good. A Pantera in the group too??

By the way, I am wondering if you came upon the other Pantera that was about 3 miles ahead of you?? There was also a 360 about 2 miles behind your group. I was going to call you, Aaron, to let you know and realized your number was on my old phone. I was getting a kick out of seeing the cars go by on the way to work this morning.....

 

Yeah, we did have a Pantera join up with us for a few miles, but he exited around Gilroy - sort of a mustard green (ish) color? We didn't see the other Pantera nor the 360, though.
