concours and italian happening

I really want to go, but I have a family reunion that weekend. I'd probably disowned if I didn't go to that. :-(

Janelle & I will be at the Troy Hilton (FYI: Priceline...$50!!). I've stayed there before, very nice place.

My dad just called and now they are not going. Are you entering your TR in the concours?

 

I will not be going entered my car, but found out today will not be showing was not accepted was told to many 308's. I will be going to Gratiot Cruise near my house.
I have my 308 for sale any way will be buying new Z06. I won my class in 2002 I guess that is good enough.

 

I'm not entering my car. I was going to be in the I.H., but after thinking about it, I don't want to be there all day Sunday and then drive back to MKG. We will be hanging out in Royal Oak Saturday night if anyone wants to join us.

 

A friend of mine will have his Carerra GT there. Not in the show, but look for it in the parking lot...

What are the exact dates of this show? Is it the cranbrook one or the medowbrook one? Thanks!

 

We are headed out of my house here in Kansas City, be leaving in the next 45 minutes. I will be wearing khaki cargo pants, my shirt from last years Concorso d'Italia (has a yellow 275 GTB/4 on the back, can't miss it.) and, of course, my KSU hat, which is purple. I'll be toting a large-ish Nikon.

PaulK - Cranbrook was 2 weeks ago, this weekend is Meadowbrook and Concorso d'Italia, which are both on the same day, in the same place this year...

Just got back from the show, wow!!! The 2 250 Spider Californias were my favs, but those 8 hemi Cuda converts (actually 1 was a hemi Challenger) were awesome as well. The 2 348 Speciales were also very cool. I talked at length w/ the guy that had the yellow one in the I.H. area, nice guy. The car has a Challenge exhaust (it came that way from the factory) that he is selling for $1000 if anyone is interested. BTW, did anyone see my old black '79 308 in the I.H. section? I miss that car!!

 

Jerry , sorry i missed you yesterday . I wa looking for you but my "judging" responsibilities made the day very hectic . Sounds like you really enjoyed the show. It was really tough picking the best cars from those California spiders ! We did the best we could.I did see your "old" 308 . I miss my 355 , but i'll have something soon . Take care.

 

here are my thoughts on the day:

1) I love this show. Last year was my first time attending, and I only made it to the Italian show then. This is fighting very hard to be my favorite show, and I will not miss it from here on out.

2) The quality of cars was amazing, and it was great to see some of the past concept cars there. Chrysler had a great display...

3) The Hemi's are stunning. I never thought I'd see one in person, let alone that many. Wow.

4) They sure don't make cars like they used to (for good and bad)...

5) I need to work smarter AND harder.

6) I can't think of a better way to spend a nice summer Sunday.

7) I grew up a Lambo kid, and would still love to own a Miura, but the Prancing Horse holds my heart now.

8) The only thing more exciting than the cars are the owners.

9) Chrysler needs to make the Firepower, and should bring something like the Pronto concept to market.

10) Did I mention how much I like the models from the House of the Prancing Horse?

11) 4 hours of driving is more enjoyable on the way to the show as opposed to on the way home.

12) There is a second car show in the VIP parking lot that no one seems to talk about.
