Hey, who is going to Concourso Italiano. I'll be there. My car is entered. I'm driving up the 101 on Thursday. Any caravans? Bee Jay
We'll be there and also driving up Thursday although we don't have a firm time when we're leaving. Anyone know if the PCH is open?
I will be trailering my black Testarossa up the I-5 (with 3forty8 as co-pilot) - leaving Thursday. We'll be sorta hard to miss so honk or something if you see us!
Leaving early morning on Friday, but will still be at the golf course by 10am since it is only 4 hours door-to-door. I will be either driving my truck or my DD, so if any of you guys want to catch a ride over to the race track for a few hours, I can give you a ride up the hill. My plan right now is to stay at Concorso for the morning and for lunch, then drive over to the track for a couple of hours in the early afternoon. -Greg
yeah yeah...I'm hoping for a platinum, want to keep it pristine as possible. After that, all bets are off.
Ahhh, now I get it - the co-pilot will drive the truck and trailer back while you get to roar back in the Testarossa... wait a minute, oh snap!
Hey Bee Jay. The Italian Stampede is coming up Thursday from SoCal and have around 60 cars. I believe the website is italianstampede.com.
I drove from SF and got a 98.5 last year. Mad scramble to get the brake dust off in the morning though! Just no donuts on the lawn afterward. That's only for F40's
Monte - I live in Cambria and will be driving my 355 up on Thursday. PCH (up here, we just call it Hwy 1) is indeed open all the way, and I'm contemplating taking that route, as I did last year. Some friends from the Bay Area were visiting me in June and drove home that way. They reported at that time that there was still quite a bit of loose gravel in and around the winter slide areas, so I'm still tryng to decide whether to chance the stone hits by going that way or to take Hwy 101... not that 101 is a whole lot better. Hi Paul. What did you lose points for? Do you have the scoring sheet? I feel really in the dark about how to prep my car - i.e., what they are looking for. Why does this have to be such a mystery??
I won't be going up this year, but we are trailering up a BMW CSL that will be at the RM on Saturday. We've been tightening it up over the past 2 months so it shows as it should. Hopefully it pulls what it is worth. My partner and another employee are headed up for the week while I keep the doors open down here. Have fun to all who are going. Monterey Week is a definite bucket-list thing to do once.
Update: Due to the risk of being labeled "Urge to Polish", I have decided to drive the Testarossa up to Monterey. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQXKOxGhMuA[/ame]
Sometimes you just gotta man up. Enzo would be proud! It will make the award all the more satisfying too!
I'm not entering my car though. But I've never been to one of these fancy things. It'll be neat to see all the cool cars and the rich folk that own them. Me & #19 F355 Spider Fiorano will just be spectating. Just a blue collar guy with a yellow car.
I was suppose to be going and take my D Roadster but things got moved back to Late Sept early Oct now . Wish I was going.
Mike here. Met ya in Millbrae (post Trader Joes). Are you going to the event? I don't know anyone. I am thinking of going as a spectator. My car isn't clean enough to enter. It's a working mans car. Never been to one of these fancy things. I like doing Donuts on the lawn!!!! Take it easy. Regards, Mike
Blue collar guys should enter! That way you only pay the entry fee, park the car on the green, lock it up and enjoy. Oh, by the way, you would save a bundle as you also get two admissions with an entry. Sounds pretty blue collar to me.
I may just reconsider. Put my beater with a heater in there. It has minor flaws but she runs 100% ! I like pulling G's.
My car is no show car, but for the $100 entry fee, you get two people admitted and great parking. I'll be driving up the 101 sometimes Thursday afternoon. I was just hoping to catch up with an LA to Monterey Caravan. Bee Jay
