Condition of Captree/ Ocean Parkway?

With the horror stories of Fire Island and Ocean parkway now mostly gone, is there any information regarding Captree? I would guess that if Captree survived it would be covered with salt.

 

Jeez, I hadn't even thought about ocean pkwy with all the craziness. Where Am I going to be able to go Really fast on straight-line now?

Ocean Pky is closed at Meadowbrook and Wantagh, probably for MONTHS. Acess from RM Causeway is limited to local residents only, proof of home ownership and photo ID required. Residents are escorted in and out by State Troopers or LI park Police.Zero tolerance for visitors or BS. People coming by boat are being turned away. Ocean Pky damage is on eastbound lanes, bet. Jones Beach and Tobay, so westbound lanes are being used for two way traffic. Dunes are gone in places, wouldn't want to drive on eastbound lanes even if they let you. Residents are waiting for permanent power to return, and are very concerned about looters. Do everyone a favor and stay away.

Holy ****! I didn't imagine it being that bad. How many miles of it got destroyed ya think? Looks like all of it?

 

The geographical landscape of many of the coastal areas from CT to Long and Staten Islands and NJ are forever changed.

Captree has been reopened!! Access is only via the Moses Causeway. Video from News12 showed Captree main dock and parking lot pretty clean. Weather looks good for Sunday!!
Field 2 at Jones Beach has beeen reopened as well. Access via the Meadowbrook and Wantagh Parkways. News12 traffic reports Ocean Parkway closed from Cedar Beach on west. Looks as if the traffic circle at the Wantagh is as far east you can go on Ocean Parkway. Will be down at Field 2 today to check out JB.
