Confirm sill colour question ?

    Am looking at an ex Cornes Japan import into the UK and believe it has been repainted as the lip that runs around the lower edge of all the lower panels is body-colour and no longer black.

    Am I right in thinking that, irrespective of year, this part of the 550 is ALWAYS black ?

    Correct, but easily rectified.

    The black could be re-applied in situ (see the Bradan thread from post #21 onwards - http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/bradan/539799-bradan-550-major-service-upholstery.html ) but the best results would be obtained if all the lower panels including the still sill covers are all removed and painted off the car.

    P.S. The Superamerica version of the 575M has all the lower panels painted in body colour as standard and some 575M's may have left the factory in that configuration but it would have been the exception rather than the rule. I have never come across, or indeed heard of, a 550 that left the factory without the black.

    Many thanks, didn't want a car that's had any repainting (unless fully documented) so have passed on that one.
