I removed the RH radiator and let the coolant drain.

As per FSM, the coolant was pumped through the lower hose and return from the top hose in the first pic below.

Since the car is cool, I suppose the thermostat is closed. So , if I add water into the coolant reservoir, water should come from the small little hose in the 2nd pic, since that is the route where there's least resistance.

But, I only see water coming out of the top hose in the first pic (after a few seconds), while nothing comes out of the lower hose, NOR from the little hose in the 2nd pic.

That confused me. Can somebody explain why?

I think the fluid in the tank is flowing through the pump body/chamber and down the big hose which normally comes from the upper hoses of the radiators. The thermostat controls the flow going through the hose which goes to the lower big hoses of the radiators. There is no flow through the radiators when the thermostat is closed, but that doesn't mean the fluid can't "gravitate" backwards from the pump to the radiators via the upper hoses. i.e. no flow through the radiators, just gravity feed to them.

There seems to be 7 orifices on the pump. I can't figure out what they all do, but I think what you are seeing is something like this:

Actually, looking at the photos, the inlet on the pump body for the water coming from the upper hoses on the radiators is on the opposite side of the pump:

The inlet was not shown in the original diagram. I've added it behind the smaller pipe on the left.

Note that the thermostat in these diagrams are shown in the closed position.

360 s cooling system is the worst for air locking I have ever experienced. We had a great deal of trouble getting them filled properly and is the car that caused most Ferrari shops to buy a filling system like the one called Airlift. It saves us hundreds of hours a year. Nearly impossible to properly fill one by yourself otherwise.
