Uggghhhhh the Konig thing is ugly. Looks like a ricer/kitcar to me though I am sure its better in person.

The '59 TR replica would be a ton of fun, but is far more money than the others. I am assuming you would want a "cut coupe" Daytona and not an original spyder.

You of coarse know my choice: Go Daytona and you will never go back! Understated? Pedestrian? Get a set of velocity stacks for the carbs and install some straight pipes and I guaranty you that anyone within earshot will find it ANYTHING but understated! The great thing about a Daytona is it gets attention from the people you WANT to get attention from.

Come to think of it....didn't Crockett and Tubbs (Miami Vice) speed around Miami in both a Daytona (replica) and a TR? :D

    Looks pretty cool to me....

    William H,
Is there any difference in stock sound of TR & 512TR? Do they both have that throaty deep sound?

    Thanks

The engine management system is different as well as the intake but the engine itself is identical I believe so apart from a little more intake sound from the drivers seat they should sound very similair

Te be different I would definetly take the TR Spyder. That thing is sooo cool, so Miami-Vice-ish. But then again the Daytona is very Miami Vise-ish too (Paint it black , get the cool white or cream suit and you are ready to Rock).

I say you have a hard choice.

Since you're such a subtle and quiet guy, always in the backgorund <grin>, I think you'd find the Daytona a little too normal and would have a blast in the Koenig TR convertible. $60k+ is a deal, and the downside seems managable. go for it, and let us know the stories that follow! Just can't see anyone driving the TR replica on the streets much.

In 20 years the Koenig might even be worth bucks at BJ - but that's another thread.

Daytona, Daytona, and did I say Daytona. Here is why the car is beautiful, and you already have a race car. Go with the classic that is real.

    William,

OMG, the Daytona is absolutely Stunning! My pick Hands Down!!!
It's you're decision of course, but as pictured, I can't keep my eyes
off it. Plus, it's the Real Deal…. Pedigree vs. Wannabe.
(Don't get me wrong , with you're current Stable, you obviously
have nothing to prove to anyone.)

From previous post I know you've been thinking about a project car.
So you'll likely buy a "complete", or build your own Replica.

    I envy you're "Predicament"!

Last week the replica was in #1 spot, now the TR is in #1 spot, I'm sure if I drive a Daytona that will jump to #1 spot :)

Most non car people think a Daytona is a Corvette, :( sort of a downer

I have a friend who is learning about cars who said I'd look like speed Racer in the replica :) LOL

He thinks the TR is THE ride for Miami Beach, He might have a point

well i don't know you personally, but i have been hanging out with you on the site for a while, and i think you are too classy to ride in a replica (whatever it is), or that tr thing (which i personally think looks a little too columbian for my tastes. the daytona is very cool in a subtle way, and so maybe you are right that you need something a little more noticeable.

if it has to be a ferrari, and you don't mind a chpped top, then maybe look into a chopped bb512. or a dino, or maybe an older 12 (altho that does get expensive)

does it have to be a ferrari ? if not then how about a diablo roadster? i am sure allan can give you pointers on which is best.

The Daytona at least might appreciate in value if not at least hold it. If you ever decided to sell, it would also be the easiet one too.

Thanks Ross, :) we'll have to meet someday when I get to London or you fly to the Colonies :) Has to be a Ferrari so I can go on rally's w my FCA friends.

I'd think Ive narrowed my Non Ferrari roadster down to an E Type, gorgeous car

Does it have to be a 12 cylinder and open top? Considered the F40?

Given your existing cars, the Koenig TR would seem fairly redundant.

The Testa Rossa replica looks awesome... but I'd need to know more about it to vote for it. What's its foundation? What engine? The Testa Rossa is one of my all-time favorite cars. I want to pick it... if it has the right internals.

The Daytona is the safe bet... a true classic... though not my personal favorite. For the same $$, I suspect I would be picking something else.

    JMHO.

I'd love to find a wrecked F40 in need of TLC :) I know where there is 1 but I doubt he'll sell

The Testa Rossa replica is built on a custom frame similair to the original w a 330 engine. I think the frame is a little longer to make the cockpit a little more comfy. It also has disc brakes & a modern ZF trans

I do not like replicas. Plain and simple. Be it cars or other collector items.

Of the three I would choose the Daytona.

What about downsizing a few; and stretching for a nice F 40 ?

Will , a daytona spider plus an Etype is F40 territory right ?
    A Daytona Spider conversion is worth around 200k$ no ? a Good E type somewhere around 50000 $ ..
For a bit more you can have a good F40 ( i know you dont care about mint cars since yours is going to be tracked :) )

    So why not ?
