Thanks! The Judges were really knowledgeable and they kindly pointed out a some interesting things. The part I liked best was the 70 mile tour down the PCH. Seeing Meg, Veronica, and Joanna styling in the back with the surf crashing behind them surrounded by pre war cars is something I'll not soon forget. Best

Way to go Jim, I loved seeing your car on the lawn. Of course it was great to see how much fun you were having. Malcolm
Congrats Napolis. Didn't know you owned a Dussie. Damn every time I hear about your collection or see pictures I am at a loss for words. Between your legendary classics and Armans collection of newer cars I think I am going to cry. F-chat is cruel. LOL
That is outstanding !!! I would be curious to hear what pointers they had on the car... With so many to judge and I am sure perfect cars to us mortals it had to be interesting differentiators to single out the finalists. Congrats again Jim! Rich Wallace
Incredible! Congrats! And your comments about the girls in the back, just the small things really draw a picture for those of us who were not there. The same goes for the drive in the 166 through Italy.
Hi There was a drip rail under the hood to direct rain away from the spark plugs which we're missing but will source and mount. The back side of the bumper should be dull not shiny which we'll dull. The position of the Oil PSI and Fuel gauges have been swapped which we know but did on purpose as in it's original position the Oil PSI gauge is not visible when driving and as I do drive her a lot I feel it's safer this way. The fuel filter is not original which again we know but for safety have gone with safer filter. (Fire Prevention) The transmission should be painted "Rust Primer Red" not Silver which some day we'll correct. We're missing a Firewall insulating pad which we'll source and fit. Some of the exhaust manifold bolts are wrong which we'll correct. Best
Jim Amazing what they know isn't it? I was by Bob Smith as the 250 California spider was being judged and it was amazing the knowlege base they work with. Did you get over to Quail? The Best in show there was also a Bob Smith prepared car but there seems to be a bit of controversy over that one
Wow very interesting - thanks for the info... Those judges know there stuff - to know the manifold bolts are the wrong ones - wow...
Jim Congrats on the prize, Regards Ps Thanks for the 0846 book, the updates make really interesting reading
seems the owner John Rydings lee of Dallas *someone who I know* claims to have "Reunited" the origional body work and the car, says he FOUND the body. Dissenters say he had the body made and is lying... Don't know and would not want to vouch either way.
