    when replacing rod bearings should the rod bolts and nuts be replaced?

    If it is a steel rod car I wouldn't even dream of putting Ferrari rods back in. Those thing have ventillated more blocks than I can remember.

    If it is a titanium rod motor Ferrari official policy is to throw the bolts away.

    I was contemplating this same question as I am about to redo my dino engine.I found a very informative youtube clip [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hz8vSFq3AHM&feature=related[/ame] but after watching this how would I know if the rod bolts were still good.It seems you would need to know how much they have been stretched and what are their safe limits .Superformance Uk said to me that they dont change them as a matter of course,but couldnt guarantee against failure.
