Unless you have some experience with high HP cars - you might want to start with something more modest.

It is not resale red - may take longer to sell and not command top dollar.

2008 is said (I cannot confirm) to be better than 2007 due to lifter oiling issues.

The asking price is high, but not terribly so... check cars.com to get a more realistic valuation of asking prices.

These cars are still depreciating and will continue to do so as the F12s come into the marketplace.

Get a PPI from a reliable shop!

Check the service records carefully. I purchased a 2007 599 last June through my local Porsche dealer (there are no Ferrari dealers close to my home). The car came from out of state. It had 8600 miles. We had the service records faxed to us and the salesman (who I trust) and I looked them over , and all seemed reasonable. Once I got the car and compared the service records to the manuals, I discovered that although the car was properly maintained by mileage, there are items (like fluid changes) that also have time limits, and by those standards there were a number of things that needed addressed. I spent around $3k to get everything up to date.

The car ran fine, so I guess it wasn't really a problem. However, I'm meticulous about maintenance, so once I discovered the discrepancies I had to have them addressed. The car now has about 11k miles and runs great.

If you purchase the car, install the Fabspeed secondary bypass pipes and disconnect the muffler valves. You won't be disappointed. :)

Just took delivery of a 2007 red and beige. I have owned a several models and still can't stop raving about this car. However, having owned both a 430 berlinetta and spider I suggest you test drive both since they are very different cars and one may suit you better than the other. As far as price don't pay more than 200,000 for a 2008.Miller Motors has a black listed for 210,000 with a 1000 miles that they wiil take 200,000. Good luck!

I currently own a panamera turbo and have owned a handful of high hp vehicles, just my first f-car. I definitely love the look and feel of the 599 over the 430. I offered 200k but the seller won't budge and is convinced it's work the asking.(it's a consignment) My search continues. I want to pay 200k Max and be at least a 08. I would prefer white or maybe blue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I can't believe you offered $200k and they didn't accept!

Best of luck with your search!

Three months from now, the owner will be kicking himself for not taking that offer.

I agree these cars are not going up in value and that was a very reasonable offer..

Jim- Good cars at a correct price sell quickly. Owners with an over-inflated view of their car's value sit on them.

You may want to let them sit on it for awhile; in the mean time survey other possibilties (e.g., DuPont Registry).

Buying from a dealer should give you some peace of mind, and this one is a Ferrari certified car. But service records should be available.

As for the color I personally think that the 599 is very handsome in white, actually more so than red. Take a look at this 2011 for sale in San Diego (90K more for 3 years newer and less 5K less mileage) http://www.ferrariofsandiego.com/used-San+Diego-2011-Ferrari-599-GTB-ZFF60FCA6B0181076. It has a matte black wrap on the top. Absolutely stunning. If you do get the Florida car, consider this relatively inexpensive enhancement.

Welcome to F-Chat. I like the white car also. I like the Matte black top with those wheels on the car in San Diego. With pure white I would prefer brighter wheels, probably ball polished comp wheels.

    Happy hunting. :)
