Have had my eye on this one for a while and wondering if anybody knows of "stories" or such about this car. Its been around the show block so I'm hoping somebody is aware if it is a solid car or not. Vin ZFFYT53B000122718 and its an Ebay listing (and has been for some time now)

The concerns I have are 1. the European model retrofit and how that might affect the car in any capacity (performance, maintenance issues, resale etc). I have done some searches on here about Euro conversions without much success. If anybody can post links to threads discussing the conversion issue it would be helpful. Second if the price is too good to be true it usually is - and this certaintly seems like a really fair price for the car.

If I don't get any negative feedbacks probably will drive up there to look at it, make an offer and get the PPI. Thank you very much for any replies.

Do a search on my name and you will see several posts about euro conversions. I have one hand have had it for over 3 years with no problems. I even got it CA certified so it is a 50 state car. In one of the posts I posted a short list of the changes and differences. You will hear lots of rants but suffice to say, the changes are minor. Remember, they only sell good cars in the US; they sell all of the bad cars in Europe ;)

too high on price & not many options - fender shields look "aftermarket" & it looks like someone painted the air intake box? Should be black on a spider with silver covers I believe... This one is all silver with silver tops...

Tough selling colors so price also should reflect that..

I would say upper 80's.... max. Too many nice cars out there with great options & colors in the 90's...

Howeva take what I say as my own opinion, if its what you want for colors/options/pricing... buy it :)

Those are all things I like about it !

If I were in the market for a 360 Spider this would be at the top of the list. White on these look great. Stick is a must have. Euro done properly is just as good and less expensive.

    +1 for 6 speed manual
    +1 for color scheme (white/blue/blue)

If it was white on tan with a black top, or white on grey with a black top, etc, basically any 3 color scheme, not counting the possibility of a different dash color on a light interior, which is another factor, I'd not be too crazy about it. But I like the white/blue/blue.........could be a longer resale cycle as a result, so buy it cheaper than a red/tan car.

No comment on price and FWIW I have no issues with Euro cars, weren't they all born there anyways ?

    Welcome to F-Chat.

I like the "story" of this car from the ebay ad that says it was ordered by a Dallas Cowboy, thus the blue and white color scheme.

    FWIW, I like it.

The rims Hamann and they were 9k new, I have the receipt. The fenders are rolled so the car has 335's on the rear. Factory red calipers, factory stereo head unit but 20k up grade on the rest of the sound system, amps, speakers, sub woofer done in factory leather, challenge rear grill and I have the original too, electric seats, car cover, all books and records, complete tool kit, not one door ding, some paint chips on the front, shields, scrub plates and a second set of new ones, tubi exhaust, varitors are done, oil was just changed, Not a typical 360. There is a lot of upgrades and they are tastefully done IMO. There is a bunch of other great stuff about the car but I need to go right now. PM me if you are interested. The car will not leave my garage until all funds are cleared or the sale will go through Roy one or the other.

With my daughter now being 2 y/o...Wife wants a 4 seat vert.

My money is on this car!!
If I was located on different place, for sure I would be a buyer for this car. Too bad that I have to pay $80K in taxes only + Shipping and insurance to bring that car to Puerto Rico!!!
I don’t understand why no one already buys this car!!

Just my thoughts if this is a Euro conversion car...

I recently bought a 1999 360 from a fellow FChatter. When I tried to get it insured with State Farm the underwriter gave me a bunch of problems. Ultimately they tried to claim it was a "Grey Market Car". They wanted EPA paperwork, US Customs releases etc...

All in spite of the fact that the VIN clearly stated it was a US market car. My wife even faxed them a copy of the Warranty card stating it was a US car.

The only thing that really helped was I reached out to the previous owner and he had insured it through State Farm as well. He also had problems initially with State Farm (though not to the extent I did) and said the previous owner had issues with (I think) Allstate as well. Anyway, he was kind enough to give me his agents name and phone number and my agent forwarded it on to the underwriter. This finally seemed to convince them to cover the car.

It was not the fault of my agent but the stupid underwriter...

Anyway my point is if this car is/was actually a Euro car you could run into similar issues trying to get insurance.

My euro is insured through State Farm with no problems. BUT, I do have all of the paperwork. When buying a euro paperwork is important.
