These bills with the ferrari are killing me. how is the reliability of these cars? Will i be able to drive, say 10,000 miles a year on one? Most importantly, how do the service costs compare to the 355.

The Maserati GS will still be under warranty.

The GranSport's power band is much more usable than the F355's. The GS is more comfortable to drive, it's a good looking car but the F355 is a great looking car! I guess it all boils down to what you want out of your sports car.

The F355 is a Ferrari plain and simple. If you can get over that then you will love the Grandsport. You will not get as much attention (personally I do not care but some do) but if you do not care, you will have a blast with a GranSport. Get a Convertible!!!! You will also have a 4 yr warranty from the original sale date which is unheard of for Ferrari.

I also went from the F355 to a Maserati (CC Coupe, though -- not the GranSport). Many factors affected my decision at the time: lower operating costs (chain-driven engine), full warranty, more horsepower, better F-1 tranny system, seating for four, etc. The GranSport would only add to all of that.

You should be able to drive 10k a year no problem. For the most part just regular oil / filter services / inspections. The CambioCorsa system's clutch may need replacement around 20k miles (more or less) depending on your driving style / mode selection. Other than that, probably tires / brakes, and some minor warranty items along the way. It helps to live near a Maserati dealer / service center too. Perhaps other "more seasoned" owners will chime in here with their respective experiences in this regard.

Funny thing was that the Maserati garnered more attention locally than the Ferrari did -- not that I really cared...but it was rather amusing.
