Since some of us have been accused of being instigators even though we were trying to convey our dissatisfaction with the Ghost on how he had handled certain issues, I figure I would start a thread to provide constructive criticism to the Ghost for "improvement".

I figure since most of the post criticising Ghost has been deleted (by him), I would imaging it's b/c the nature of how these criticism were stated. I figure we should state our criticism in the most professional manner. Because after all our criticism is intended to make this place better.

    So I'll go first:

    - Vik, I feel you need to be less biased. Just because people have different views than yours, it doesn't mean you have the right to delete their posts.

    - Accept you're flawed (I know, it's hard) but be fair.

    - Accept criticism. When you delete a criticism post about you, it only make people wonder if that post was true or not.

    - Review how many people the other moderators have banned, then review how many you have banned. If yours is significantly higher than theirs (combined) perhaps you should consider reviewing the ban with other moderators prior to executing such.

you have got to be kidding me. You don't like how the job is done, then you do it. Ask Rob if you can be a mod. Rob will most likely say no. He chose Ghost because he thought that Vik would do a good job (which he has). Mods make decisions based on judgement. Every situation is different. The rules are simply guidelines.

Charlie, I have no problem with you what so ever. Had you know the root of this issue you would have a very different view. And please don't pass judgement about the EC crew if you don't know the whole story and is based on hear say.

If you like to know more, please PM me.

(btw, yes, I already made an post on EC board)

Noah, see here's where you are mistaken. Vik emailed a lot of us to nominate him to be the moderator. I AM one of the people who supported him. I sent Rob a PM as quite a few of others supporting some sort of order. There were too much fighting. However, my opinion changed when I realized that there a "power trip" or unwillingness to listen to different point of view.

I respect a person who's consistent both in front of people and back, and I don't think that's the case here. I don't go around and say "hey I want everyone on a run b/c I like everyone" but then behind them and say "I don't really want to hangout with this person, b/c he's too old and not cool to hangout in the chic club...or that person drives a 308 and it looks bad with all the new cars and I don't want to run with that person."

I don't know how inappropriate this is. It's constructive as said in the title and I think Vik can perfectly defend himself.

There's gotta be issues that drove me over the edge...remember I'm one of the people who original supported him to be a Mod...and Clyde you also know me on a personal basis and know that I'm extremely fair.

This is more mean to be a wakeup call for Mod.

Btw, there's not too many ppl who wants to agree with me but can't...because Vik banned them.

I understand he had an issue with WoodEar and banned him originally. But pretty soon, it seems like everyone who disagreed with Vik was banned.

I'm one of the few ppl left and I stand behind what I believe in. I think Vik needs to be a bit more humble and be consistent.

I don't instigate nor do I like to cause trouble (for the most part)...so instead of beat me over the head for doing this, I just ask you to give me the benefit of the doubt.

    John -

I wasn't going to spend time responding here since we've had this discussion many times over, but your posts on this thread are at times grossly misleading, so allow me to clarify a few areas:

    - I've always asked for and accepted criticism both online and off. Last time this topic came up, the EC crew criticised in full force but despite multiple requests from multiple people few (if anybody) provide any concrete suggestions for improvement.

    - My moderation has been consistent in taking enforcement against those that violate the rules of FChat. There are judgement calls that are made in every situation and you may have a different view on how you would handle a particular situation, but that doesn't make your view any more right or mine any more wrong. Life moves in shades of gray, and that's a fact.

    - I have no idea where you get the idea that I preclude 308's or other people to join on a run. I love to drive, and include others that share this with me at every chance I get. Ask Clyde or jhsalah - you're way off base on this one.

    - Although you advocate a balanced view, your personal biases and EC loyalties come through very strongly in your posts so I can't see or support impartiality here.

    - Lastly, what do you mean that others are banned here and therefore cannot participate? You and I both know that a large number of the crew that were asked to leave or chose to leave have not only logged in under aliases, but are active (or actively monitoring this board). Why lie about the situation?

It's sad to see that the friendship we once had - which was very strong at one point and involved a lot of fond memories - has been replaced by anger, resentment and animosity on your part. These themes come through very clearly in your posts.

    I'll leave it at that.

    Best.

OK people, I'm still new here and I have a lot of respect for many people I have chatted with and gone on runs with, and I have no desire to get in the middle of this debate, nor, frankly, much interest in publicly discussing my own opinion of EC and all that. I don't see much to be gained, and I want to keep the friends I've made and make new ones... THAT SAID, there are two things I feel the need to say here, then I'm done:

First, PChop, I've met and hung out with both you and Vik (though only briefly in your case, and you probably don't remember who I am off hand), and it seems to me like you're both good guys. Clearly, you have some issues that, again, I don't mean to get in the middle off. But my humble opinion is you'll probably be more successful resolving these issues if you dealt with them one on one with Vik, off line. NOT trying to "shut you up" or anything here, just a bit of advice you are free to take or not.

Second, about what you said above, I drive a 308, and I was out at the "chic" club with the models, and I've been out on a few runs with Vik. I have not once felt like anyone "discriminated" against me because it's "only a 308". If you're accusing Vik of that, I would frankly be shocked if it were true he makes such statements, and I will reserve judgment and let Vik himself respond to that accusation. If you or Vik or anyone else does feel like a 308 "doesn't belong" with your 430s and Lambos and other new cars, that would truly be unfortunate, and quite a departure from what I thought the spirit of Fchat was.

Anyway, stuck my nose way too much into this already, but I've had a great time meeting people from Fchat and it saddens me to see this kind of conflict.

I hope it's resolved in a satisfactory way for all parties.

Let's get back to enjoying our cars -- no matter how new or old.

    J.

there is nothing wrong with constructive feedback?

so when Rob Lay starts a thread like what do ppl think about fchat? how can u make it better? so then u r saying that he shouldn't be doing this, and that all responses should be via PM or private email?

    i dont think so

Of course I remember you. You had the blk 308 right? Very sharp looking. I have NEVER judged anyone or exclude anyone b/c of what car they drive. Nor have I ever asked "yo, what's your ride" to a run. The value of a car will NOT define a person's character; it's intergrity, honor and loyalty. That's why if someone who has a passion but doesn't have a Ferrari, so what, come along for the ride and have a great time. I will never ***** or complain or try to exclude ppl without exotics and run only those with. Hell, I started without a F-car and a lot of folks on here helped me to buy my 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Ferrari.

Yes for you being shocked at my wording...PM me and be shocked.
