I am contemplating selling my beloved Porsche 996 GT2 and replacing it with a 2008 or 2009 430 Scuderia. It will fulfill a couple of roles. First, as my weekend toy, but secondly for the occasional track day.

I regularly instruct at Laguna Seca, Sears Point/Infineon and Thunderhill Raceway, here in Northern California and want some feedback from those of you that have tracked your Scud. I will mostly use the car for weekend trips up/down the coast here, but it will be driven fairly "spiritedly". The car would probably do 15 - 20 track days a year in total. (6 or 7 weekends maximum).

    How does it hold up?

Have you used Hoosier R6's on your Car? If so, how do you feel the Car was on those tires?

Do I have to be especially careful of anything in particular with these cars, as far as mechanical wear and tear, brakes, other maintenance issues etc?

Is there any specific model year of the 430 Scuderia that I should avoid if possible?

Thanks for any and all input and comments you guys may think would help me make my decision.

    Cheers.

Thanks for the replies to this post as well as the P.M.'s I have recieved.

I will be driving a 2009 Scuderia this weekend and will post my impressions afterwards.
