Please tell me I'm nuts! There's a yellow 355F1 spider in my area for sale at a good price and I'm seriously thinking of moving that direction. Always wanted a manual car, but maybe the F1 gearbox isn't so bad? If I don't like the gearbox, how difficult is it to switch the gearbox over to a manual? I'm sure there's links to this within the forums, but after a quick search I didn't notice much. Maybe someone can send me the right direction, and others will tell me I'm crazy! Anyways, feel free to chime in on what you think!

You can switch it, it has been done but there's something about switching the ECU to a 6 speed cars version. I have no idea of you actually need to do that or not.

As I have had my F1 car start and run when I have had F1 issues like gear box failure light so its not like the engine ecu stops working if the F1 side is jacked.

So thats a ? I have to figure out.
Part of me has wanted to ya k my f1 parts out and convert mine as its a bastard car anyway being an import from Germany.

I have collected some of the parts to do the swap just incase or if I felt like it.

I think you would probably need to spend close to 5-6k on parts then instilation on top of that unless you hunt for deals and do it yourself you can save even more money.

Haha always getting older! I'm torn because I love the 348 but my dream as a kid was always a 355. If only a saw a 348 first I wouldn't be in this predicament!

I'm thinking of holding off now anyways. The 348 has been bulletproof. If I am to move to a 355 it's got to be the right car! Probably Rosso Corsa on tan or black spider. Manual of course:) It's a car I would like to keep forever...
