Michele Conti was well known for his Ferrari models, however I recently read an article stating that he was commissioned by Champion spark plugs to build models of three record setting subjects, Darryl Greenmayer's Grumman, Miss US-1 boat, and the Summers Brothers Goldenrod bonneville car. Have any of you seen these or know if they were/are displayed? I believe there was also a GT40 that Champion used for displays at auto/trade shows. Anyone remember seeing this one? I think these would have been done in the early 1970's.

So, in looking at the wooden buck for the GT40, it is interesting that some of the other bucks he used were plaster. I do not know enough about his techniques to quite understand the usage for the plaster material instead of wood.
