My horn button is rather contrary. It honks if you push at 12:00, sometimes works at 3 and 9, and seldom at 6:00. I took it off to clean the contact areas but they are inside the horn assembly. I carefully sprayed some contact cleaner inside (afraid to ruin the Horsey) but no help. Has anyone taken the horn assembly apart without breaking the plastic?? Anything to watch out for to avoid ruining the thing?? Thanks.

Probably the contact point that the ring on the steering wheel is supposed to be touching is worn. It only touches at some points in the rotation. The same thing happened on my 308. See http://www.parrotbyte.com/kbc/ferrari/308/Horn.htm for details.

Chuck...I've seen this happen before. If you 'back' out after submitting the post, you are confronted with the possibility that your post wasn't actually posted. So you press 'Submit' again (and again), and quickly you end up with several identical posts. Should this happen, you actually have 60 minutes to delete the erroneous sillyness. (also have 60 minutes to edit the post should a glaring spelling mistrake become obvious).

The next silliness part is when different people reply to different identical posts.

Ahhh, what was life like before software. How due you spell sillieness, anyway?

Nice write up on the horn problem...didn't imagine my problem might be so involved. Before I attempt your procedure I should mention that I can be setting in the driveway not turning the wheel and push the top part of the button (12:00) and the horn will honk but pushing the bottom of the button there's no response. At 3 and 6 usually no horn. Do you think it may still be the ring contact or something in the button itself?? Thanks for your help.

It happened just like you said. I hit the Submit Reply and a page listing Ferrari links came up. Actually nothing to do with the Chatline and I didn't know what it was so I backed up and entered again. Same unknown Ferrari page. Back up entered again. The third try it worked liked the was supposed to and now I see three posts...rather embarrassing. Tried to edit and delete but didn't see where to delete. Well next time I should know what to do if I don't forget. BTW to answer your question it's silliness but I had to use my little electronic dictionary 'cause I didn't know either. Take care.

Sounds more like the horn button contact. Pull off the horn button and detach the wire. If grounding the wire always causes the horn to blow, then it's the horn button. If not, you'll have to did deeper.
